Dr Michael Gottner

I have this habit of reading reviews before going to doctors. The reviews on here don’t really reflect reality though. Doctor Gottners staff were kind, and he was as well. He found my eyes were healthy but my right eye is farsighted so he sent me to an optometrist.

Today I took my 82 yr old grandmother for a minor procedure at the Langley office. The procedure was scheduled for 3:15pm and after initial check-in everything seemed fine although this Dr never had good bed side manners. We were told to wait in the room. Another patient arrived after us and her consultation with the Dr ensued for over 30 minutes completed neglecting and disregarding my grandmother and her appointment. I could see she felt horrible and after I voiced my concern with the staff we left the clinic at 3:50pm. This Dr was still talking to the other patient about eye drops etc....What a horrible experience. I am so dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and will speak to my family doctor to stop referring patients to this Dr. I almost never write reviews but I wanted to save someone from similar experience in the future. Reviews speak for themselves. Choose wisely about seeing this Dr.

Worst medical care I have ever experienced! I was astounded by the unprofessional and unkind way I was treated by all the staff at this office. especially by Dr. Gottner himself. I was rushed and treated with a high level of impatience, right from the start. Dr. Gottner stood just outside the treatment room, watching his assistant put drops in my eyes. When I was unable to keep my eyes open, Dr. Gottner laughed at me from the hallway and called me a baby. Then he told to stand in the corner and wait. When I expressed my concern about how unkindly they were treating me, the receptionist refused to acknowledge my concerns. When I told them I wanted to leave without any further consultation, Dr. Gottner became angry and said, Fine

I didn't even make it to my appointment. Both receptionists were defensive, rude and unprofessional. I had been booked in for over two months when right near to the appointment I was told I'd need a driver. It turns out I was supposed to know that I needed a driver and it's my fault. Then, the two receptionists put the doctor on the phone and he was also rude and careless. This office lacks kindness, and serious professionalism. I will not be seeing this doctor.

Staff was cold. Dr. was very impatient with my father who has dementia. He lacked patience and started to snap at him. My dad snapped back and I had to also tell the doctor to please show some compassion and patience. I would never recommend him and will NEVER go back. Worst experience with a doctor in my life.

I was going for 2 years. Kept giving me different drops, kept saying that my condition was very common. Still not gone and now have to get a new referral from my family doctor and then start over. ???

I had to add the 1 star in order to put this review in! He is the worst Dr. I’ve ever seen. I took my mom in for her appointment and this man was a brute!! He was impatient and down right mean. I heard him treat his white patients kindly & with mum he was a MONSTER!!!! I’ve never felt so helpless before in my life. Forgot to mention that when we I was in the examination room with Guntner and my mom, I was holding my cell on my lap and looked down at it while GUNT was speaking and he had the nerve to try and snatch the phone from my hands which were between my legs / upper thighs!
