We purchased a home in Chemainus that had an outdated oil tank. As a condition of our insurance we needed to get this quickly replaced. LD Plumbing and Heating were extremely responsive and got it swapped out efficiently for us. Price quoted was exactly what we were charged and we will certainly use them again in the future.

Had a plumber come in to install a new faucet into our new kitchen along with garbage disposal (back in the fall of 2020). Tech did not know hot from cold water, he even told me at the time he was confused and left to talk on the phone to a cohort. Installation took him almost 5 hours and he didn’t even install the garbage disposal, as he “didn’t know how”.Decided to give them another chance to install a hot water tank. The lady on the phone at the time of booking a quote was rude. I asked that the same plumber not be sent, explained why. She stated “she has heard enough”. I advised her not to bother coming to quote the hot water tank, after she was rude and dismissive.

I hired this company to install a gas fireplace, gas range, and considered to hire them for future projects. I paid for a work permit for four appliances to be installed to be completed within 6 months.The gas into the house and the range installation went well, no complaints there. The men that came were courteous and helpful.The gas fireplace was installed incorrectly and required multiple visits back to my home to properly install the back reflector plate. It kept falling down and hitting the faux fire logs. This required the manager to come himself, take apart the fireplace and re-install it properly.Shortly thereafter, we had a fairly large sewer backup into our basement (unrelated to gas). We called L&Ds emergency line on Saturday and they assured me that they could have an emergency plumber to our home the following morning first thing. Sunday 10:00am rolls around and nobody has contacted me or showed up. I called their emergency line again and they told me that they actually don't have anyone available. This was hugely distressing, and required me to frantically find another emergency plumber last minute. Monday morning I called L&D to tell them how unhappy I was that I was left hanging by their staff and that if they couldn't come they should have called me immediately because my sewer backup into the basement was an emergency.When the backup happened, we were unable to complete the work that we had permitted for (due to insurance reasons). The six month time frame for our work permits expired and L&D plumbing did not contact us about whether we wanted to re-engage them for the projects. When I reached out to them to cancel the permit, they administrative staff assured me that the amount we paid for in the permit was the minimum amount and that we are not due for a refund for any of what we paid. The admin staff was curt on the phone. This is not consistent with what I discussed with other plumbing companies, and I am concerned that we are due a refund for the work projects that were permitted and not used.In my opinion, we gave L&D multiple opportunities to provide us a good experience, and my partner and I are disappointed. Given our experience, we will not be looking to engage them again. Better expertise and customer service can be found elsewhere.

I have used LDP&H on three ocassions since I purchased my home in Ladysmith in 2019 and I am overall very satisfied with their work and prices.I had my heatpump head unit cleaned and it was spotless but I think it was a little pricey for what they did.I had a new gas line put in from the regulator so I could install a gas range and the price was very reasonable, work was completed in about an hour.I had all of my Poly B lines replaced with PEX. The work was done within 8 hours and they only had to come back another day to finish the pipe wrap which took no time at all. Price for the work was really good as well.Aaron and Jarod are great, very friendly and personable.

Very professional service. We have used them regularly over past years and would highly recommend.

I was told 1 tech would come when both booking and then confirming the appointment. 2 came and I was charged for 2 men's labour. I had requested and discussed a number of quotes for several work projects. None were provided. I paid for maintenance on my gas fireplace, but besides giving it a light dusting, nothing else was done and then the fireplace stopped working a couple weeks later. Tried multiple times to call them, I either get no call backs or get hung up on. This place is a waste of time, money and mental health. Do not go here.

We had a clogged drain from the tub last Friday that had the water from the tub drain up through our toilet. We called Rob at LD Plumbing and although they said they were busy, agreed to stop in a take a look. While we were waiting we tried to use the washer and, it to, drained it's water down the pipes but back up the toilet - overall a terrible situation.Rob arrived, scoped the situation and called his friend over from the Septic company and agreed that this wasn't something that would wait to be fixed. They work tirelessly through the evening to find the cause of the blocked pipe(s), repair them and then clean up and get everything back together. They were very communicative, calm and made sure my parents understood what was happening. They had the situation very much in control and were extremely friendly and helpful. So despite working all night they were able to get everything back to normal and cleaned up wrapping up just after midnight. No complaining, just exemplary professionalism.I can't thank Rob and team enough for their hard work, work ethic and the professionalism during this process. I would recommended them to anyone needed any kind of Plumbing work.Thank you very much, we sincerely appreciate the work! You will be our first call next time we need any plumbing work done.

PLUGGED SEWER PIPE ON A LONG WEEKEND! The office gal promptly returned our call on the Friday of a long weekend. Rob, our tech, was terrific. He worked on the pipe for a couple hours, unable to unplug the line he kindly offered to go to HD at 5pm and rent a larger auger - thus not leaving us without a bathroom for 3 days. Finally unplugged, Rob left us at 7pm Friday night. Rob was professional and most helpful offering future advice.If we could make one recommendation - it would be to the company owner to invest in a large auger, saving the tech time and ultimately the customer additional costs.

BEWARE This company left me no heat because they had to source part's. 24 HOURS later I received text from private number telling me they don't work on Trane equipment and to find someone who does because they don't want my business. This was about 30 hours from the time they received my information.I found this repulsive never in my 68 years have I hade this experience. I have excellent credit been living in community for 30 years and self employed most of.I am apuled by this. Have used LD Plumbing & Heating a few times and the service and workmanship has always been excellent. Tim was thoughtful and generous with his time when consulting us on placement of safety features that we had installed. It's great to be able to rely on a local company. Highly recommend.
