I am a bit surprised at some of the reviews. My mother has been on the secure unit for quite some time and I have nothing but praise for all the staff on the unit. Cleaners, nurses, psw and so many other staff that make that place run is very impressive. Their protocols for covid are the best I have seen. I spent 2 entire days in the unit with my mom and observed nothing but care and compassion to all patients. Communication is excellent and timely. I recommend without reservation this retirement and long term care facility. Well done Ridesucrest staff.

I want to know WHY is there only less than 5 reviews posted. Is there something to hide.This place has been around here for a few years so there should be hundreds of reviews good and badPlease post all the reviews so we can make informed decisions. I am going to say from what I have seen and heard3☆☆☆. Come on Rideaucrest you can do a lot better. How hard can it be...

I had a relative and other family friends who were living there. Near the end of my relatives life there seemed to be no extra care given...it was absolutely heartbreaking. Numerous family friends have also had very similar experiences and concerns. I wouldn't recommend this institution to anyone I know or their loved ones.

My name is Jamie, I've been at Rideaucrest for 2 years, 4 months and 4 days. To the day.... When I arrived at Rideaucrest, I could stand. Well not now! I used my computer 4 to 7 hours a night! Not now! I'm a quadriplegic now! If I didn't fight for my electronic wheelchair and Quadlife mouse, my life would have no purpose or meaning. First things first, PSW's, NURSES, and L and L top notch! But as far as upper management, they make you feel like a room number, object, not a human being, they dictate everything you can and can't do. Management should lead using The Fundamental Principle and Residents Bill of Rights under the Long-term care act of 2007, after all. It's what the Long-term Care Act was written around, but no, management at Rideaucrest is basically what is wrong with Long-term Care system across Canada and they don't wish to fix it, they should be ashamed, but their not. They love their power over front line staff and residents, residents family. But their push back is here.... Stay turned for more reveiws to be written here! After all they may of took my hands and legs from me, but not my voice!

It's a great place to live if you need lots of help

A very nicely laid out retirement home.

When my great grandmother died after having suffered an injury in their care, her room was cleaned up and packed before we had a chance for her clothes and pictures to be selected for her funeral. On top of that, while she was staying in the home, there were consistant issues with her snacks being provided, seemingly due to an inability to remember that she had a gluten intollerence. She alsohad pains that did not seem to be taken seriously, which may have been related to an undetected cancer we only found following her accident. Most of the staff were sweet and nothing but kind, but the service as a whole was dissapointing and verging on cruel via negligence.
