Dodged a bullet!!My partner and I almost had our baby shower at the Whitby Curling Club and wow am I so thankful we didn't!! We initially came and took a tour of the hall upstairs and put a down payment down. I returned with my mother and best friend 2 weeks later to do another tour to plan out our layout and oh my goodness did it take a turn for the worse. The office manager Karen, unfortunately really lived up to her name. We were briefly told about a small leak in the roof at the time of the down payment, however the next time I visited the venue, I realized the true gravity of the situation. Karen completely down played the leak and then when I asked so there could be multiple buckets on the ground at the time of our shower, she explained yes, we have no idea where the leak is coming from and does at times come from multiple areas at once. The venue was quite old and the kitchen, which they wanted to charge extra to use, was old and dirty and the sound system they had in place didn't even work. Not to mention the prices on the website, which I confirmed with her before ever coming to see the venue, are outdated by 2 years. With all of this in mind, I simply inquired about receiving a small discount on the venue at which point Karen became very defensive and rude. She raised her voice to my mother and I, and I was 6 months pregnant at the time. As soon as we pointed out that there were many safety hazards that came with this venue she was horrible towards us. Not only was this the case, but she refused to accommodate our party in any way. For example we would be hosting our friends and family with babies and children and there was no way of changing diapers and she made no effort to even try to accommodate that. Every suggestion we made she immediately shot down. And on top of all of this she hovered the entire time we were there. She injected herself in conversations that did not include her or require her input. All in all, DO NOT rent this hall!! We looked for another venue which we found in 24 hours and for only a fraction more the of cost of the Whitby Curling Club. Now we have a beautiful venue with no safety hazards, plenty of parking, a lovely, large kitchen included in the price and set up included. We are so happy we dodged a serious bullet!!

My band played an event here. It is an older building in Whitby but very clean and staff treated us great.

We came here for a surprise party for my grandfather. The top floor banquet (?) Hall had a lot of space for our group with views of the curling rink, and the bar on the middle floor was well stocked (with craft beer, score!!). I would definitely recommend this place for any events... I might even start curling!

A friend's memorial was held there. Nice place and very accommodating.
