Dove House Bed & Breakfast

Great accommodations. Rooms were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Our host was so friendly and the hot breakfast she provided was plentiful and flavourful. We stayed there the night before crossing over to Newfoundland and the night after returning to Nova Scotia. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful house with clean, modern rooms. The beds were really comfy. Besides being a lovely host, Helene is a great cook; breakfast was delicious and there was a wide variety of choices. The homemade rhubarb jam was wonderful! We had a great stay and hope to return.

This was our very first time at a B &B and we are hooked! The hosts, Helene and Blair are very friendly and a wealth of information for trip planning. Breakfast was awesome and the rooms lovely. The price was very reasonable and location was great.

This bed and breakfast is by far one of the best that I have ever been to. The owners Helena and her husband, his name at the moment is escaping me" are simply wonderful! Our room was immaculately clean

I can't say enough about our stay, everything was exceptional. The rooms were modern and very clean, the location is great, the view is beautiful and the owners are hospitable, the breakfast was also delicious. I highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

We arrived into Cape Breton on Friday, July 22. We didn’t realize how busy the hotels would be. We were able to book a room at Dove House B & B for Saturday.When we arrived, the host was super friendly. Chatted with us, telling us the history of the B & B as we walked over to the house and to our room (we stayed in the Captain’s Quarters). The room was large and airy. The decor modern and sleek yet keeping some old charm. The ensuite bathroom was massive with everything you need right there — plenty of towels, hair dryer with accessories, toiletries). Like the bedroom, the ensuite bath was modern. No a/c in the room but definitely wasn’t needed with two fans and the breeze from the outside.Breakfast was served in the main house. Eggs, bacon, baked beans, hash browns, toast, waffles with strawberries and cream all cooked fresh. Plenty of coffee, tea and juice as well. Yummy food!!The owners of this B & B are amazing! Super friendly and knowledgeable. One can tell they took great pride in their establishment (as they should).Payment was either cash or e-transfer — a first for us (usually accommodations prefer credit) but seeing this is a small & cozy B & B (only four rooms), it makes sense to have this kind of payment structure.I would love to stay here again…highly recommended!

This was my second stay at The Dove B&B and it was just as wonderful as the first. The Captains Room was IMMACULATELY clean and the bed so comfortable. Helene and Blair go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The breakfast is delicious and there are so many choices, all served up quickly while chatting with Helene. I grew up in this town but I will always stay at The Dove when I am home visiting, it’s like my own little oasis, I can’t recommend it enough!

Great hosts, location and beautiful home. Full access to kitchen. Able to deal with gluten and dairy allergies, cooks and bakes. Couldn't ask for anything more, other than they stay in business.

August 2021Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful room with just everything that we needed. Very clean. Included daily breakfast home cooked by the owners. You could not go hungry there. Set up perfectly for Covid-19 restrictions we still have in NS. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!! And we will certainly be back again. Thank you so much Helene & Blair for your hospitality as it was very enjoyable.
