Kintec: Footwear + Orthotics

Worked with Ermin and Kiki to get some custom orthotics. They were, knowledgeable, patient, a great at explaining what I needed in a way that I could understand. They explained that more than the orthotics, or footwear I should be using, it was how my body works which led me to develop the need for orthotics. Thank you, Kintec were more than helpful and I appreciate their service!

Called the 1-800 number and told the customer service rep that I needed two ankle braces for my 15-year-old son. Drove 25 minutes to the store where I waited for another 10 minutes to be helped… Explained the situation that was occurring with my son. I was told that I could not return the ankle braces if they did not fit. All things being equal, the growth chart showed that my son was a large… Which is the only two they had in the proper size. After being told over the phone they had 2 large and 2 xl. I went to pay for them and for the 1st time I was told they are nonrefundable… And it would be best to have my son come in and get fitted. A total waste of an hour 1/2 of my time.I will not shop here in the future as a manager would not come down to speak to me when I asked to speak to one. I went back to my car and called the 1-800 helpline and they were in of no service.This place USE to be quality!

I love coming to Kintec to buy my running, trail and everyday footwear. Kintec has a great personalized shoe shopping experience. We started with a gait test using treadmill and iPad. Kiki (our helper) was very knowledgeable and explained how to improve my gait and reduce the amount of stress on my body when I walk. She also has a great eye for picking which shoe style suits me and explained the different features of each shoe which I really enjoyed.

I have had an amazing service from Maxiem, and he helped my grandmother and myself to choose the best feetwear, I am a nurse, and I recommend their shoes and their service to everyone.

What a great experience! I am in my 60s and dealing with an ankle issue while trying to remain active. Mike H. listened carefully to my concerns and goals and found a great shoe for me and was able to suggest some strengthening exercises. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

Came in yesterday with foot and ligament pain I was helped by Humam. He took me through the analysis and explained everything very clearly to me and was very patient, friendly and knowledgeable. I was extremely happy with my experience and will definitely recommend kintec and Humam

I am a long time client of Kintec. I always go back to Kintec for my foot problems and when I need to renew my orthotics and shoes. My experience with North Vancouver has been great. My last visit there yesterday was exceptional. Kiki spent good time with me patiently to explain and find the best fit shoes for me and I appreciate it.

Love this store, I go for expertise, consultation, and good selection when I’m in the market for runners and Birkenstocks. Took my partner the other day for his first Birkenstocks and we were thrilled to have multiple options to choose from even at his large size of men’s size 13! Awesome, we don’t see that often in stock in stores. Kiki at the north Van location was a great help and lovely to chat with. Thanks!

I tore the ACL of my right knee but, according to the doctors, I am too old to have surgery and the only option they gave me was to follow a conservative approach, firing up my muscles and wearing a knee brace during sports. I’m an avid hiker and I like rock climbing, so I wanted a really good product I could use during my activities. In 2017 I decided to buy a custom-made knee brace and I went to Kintec in North Vancouver.To make the story short, I ended up buying a Donjoy A22. It took lots of time and adjustments to wear it “comfortably” but in the end, it did its work. I climbed mountains and rocks with it and it protected my knee.After 5 years and a half and many adventures together however the knee brace needed some restoration: replacing the straps and the liner. I was ready to pay for it.So a couple of weeks ago I went back to the North Shore store. They checked the knee brace and told me they would have contacted Donjoy and get back to me.After a few days, Kintec sent me an email informing me that my particular model cannot be refurbished. It’s the only model that cannot be refurbished. The only option I had was to buy a new one.I couldn’t believe it. I paid $1,450 for a product that couldn't be refurbished. And nobody told me that at the moment of the purchase.I made them present that at the time of the purchase, they also told me that the frame had a lifetime warranty and I asked for some support.Their answer was that for that particular model, the warranty was 5 years only, that it was a misunderstanding and to contact Donjoy directly.As an alternative, since they cannot offer a discount on a custom knee brace, they offered a 15% discount for a product that it’s useless for the level of instability of my knee. And they knew about it because they tried to offer it when I went a couple of weeks ago.I’m very surprised by this behaviour. They haven’t been transparent since the beginning, they left me alone to deal with Donjoy and tried to sell me something I didn’t need.At this point, I will need to spend another $1,500 or more to buy another knee brace but for sure not for them.I felt scammed by them.

Mike H helped me find the perfect fit for my complicated feet. While I always get good help at Kintec I especially appreciated how well Mike listened and then asked me questions in order to find the right fit. Much appreciated.
