Espanola Animal Hospital

I have a 5 year old golden retriever who fell down the stairs and shattered his hip. I phoned Espanola animal hospital and the receptionist got me in for an appointment with Dr Rocheleau. When I arrived the receptionist was very friendly and brought me in an exam room to see the Dr. When he came in, he was very nice and explained everything that was going on with my dog and went over a surgery plan. I was with him for over an hour asking him all kinds of questions. He never made me feel rushed and he answered all my questions. One of his staff called me after surgery to let me know how my dog was doing. The next day when I picked up Toby, I sat with Dr Rocheleau again. He went over all the aftercare with me. My dog is completely back to normal. You would never know he had a new hip 6 months ago. Thank-you for your great care. All the staff and Dr Rocheleau are amazing. Forever grateful for what you all do.❤

Can I get a 6th star please? Receptionist Tammy is amazing. After hearing our story brought it to Dr. Rocheleau's attention who wanted us in the next day as he anticipated surgery ASAP. Our dog had become paralyzed suddenly on Monday and the vet we saw initially said crate rest and meds for 8 weeks! My dog would never have walked again as he had a large disc protrusion at L2,3. Every person we spoke to or encountered at EAH was compassionate, caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Rocheleau took the time although very busy to explain everything we were facing. Words cannot express my gratitude to this vet and his caring team. Thank you all from Toby and his pawrents.

We received outstanding service from the moment we walked in. We left with no questions. Everything was explained in detail. I felt confident in leaving my fur baby for surgery. Our little girl came through with flying colors. Can't wait til she gets to her follow up. Will update

I have a bernese mountain dog that needed knee surgery. Our regular vet wanted us to go to Toronto to have it done. We did some research and found that the Espanola animal hospital did this surgery. Contacted them, got in within a week and half the price. From start to finish they have been amazing! The doc will tell you like it is - no bs! If you need to have surgery done on your fur baby I would definitely look into this hospital. Thank you again for everything!

Dr Rocheleau is a superb surgeon, who really cares about his patients.The hospital staff are excellent. I highly recommend them for orthopedic surgery.

I had to go there and have surgery on my dog which was a spinal surgery. I was advised of the price and was told there would need to be a CT scan completed and if we went ahead with the surgery we would be refunded the price of the CT scan. We were not refunded the cost of the CT after the surgery as they stated they needed to do more work. My dog was there for a few days when they stated that we could pick her up. We went in to get here and were giving a quick tutorial of what we needed to do for our dog. There was another couple there and they had a dog with the same surgery being discharged the same day as our dog was. The process was rushed as they were leaving for Las Vegas for a Vet seminar or something like that. I had called today and spoke with Rachel and when I asked about the web site price and the refund for the CT scan she went on to explain that I was told a price and agreed to it and she said that the website didn't matter since we needed more work ( I don't think so ) It stated a FLAT FEE that included CT SCANS. I am not sure how they can charge more than what is listed on their own website which I copied and pasted below.In order to facilitate care to our patients for these disorders, a flat-rate fee of $3500 + HST will apply to all spinal surgeries. This fee includes CT imaging both pre- and intra-operatively as necessary, all post-operative medications and laser treatments and up to 7 days hospitalization. Referrals can be arranged by contacting the hospital by any of the usual means.The above paragraph was copied from your web site and yes the suergery was a while back. We were advised that the money we put down for the surgery that if a second scan was not required we would receive a refund. The scan was not on our bill and we asked about it and was advised they had to do another tyoe of test and that went to that. I believe that the Las Vegas trip all the vets had to rush to was one reason why our dog was only in there 3 days and not the time frame they had initially stated. If I ever had to go through this again I would go down to Toronto. I know they may do well there but we had a very very terrible experience there. Best of luck to all thers.
