Canine Dimensions In-Home Dog Training
My home has always been a place for friends and pets alike. In November of 2010 and then again in December of 2011, I lost two of our furry family members. I still had Mallard, a 9 year old black lab. Once Mallard was the only dog in the house I realized just how spoiled he was. On my hands I had an 84 pound bundle of joy that was going to be in charge, tell me when he was going to eat, great people like they were there to see him with a constant bark and he also decided he wanted nothing to do with my son’s dog. This was so upsetting to me. I went from three happy dogs to one very spoiled dog. I figured I would just have to deal with this as I created the problem and Mallard was too old to train. Well Maryanne came into our life about 6 months ago and what a blessing. The expression you can’t teach an old dog new tricks was thrown out with yesterday’s garbage. Maryanne showed me how to let Mallard know that I was in charge. She also pointed out how much happier he would be. I never realized Mallard was unhappy. I figured he ruled the house, me and everyone who came to visit that tolerated him; he had to be happy, right? After working with Maryanne, Mallard is so much more content. The attention he gets now he literally relishes. What I thought was excitement when people visited was Mallard being anxious. He now greets people and they actually get to pet him and enjoy him without getting scratched, jumped on or pawed. Mallard loves this. Mallard is also accepting the grand puppy again and for the first time they spent about 2 hours in the house together after taking a swim and a long walk side by side. In the past, I always had to separate them for fear that Mallard would hurt Trigger who is still a puppy at 1 and half years old. She does not barge in and tell you how it should be; but works with you on what you are comfortable with and makes any situation appear elementary in solving. Maryanne is well versed, educated and wholeheartedly committed to you and your dog. I would recommend her to anyone who either is getting a new dog, adopting a dog or has a dog. I have always had animals in my life and thought because I loved dogs I was good with them. Yes, I knew how to provide for them and love them but I was horrible at setting boundaries. Maryanne YOU ARE GREAT!!!! The investment I have made has made my life, Mallard’s life and our friends and families visits so much more enjoyable!!! THANK YOU!!! Seriously folks… call this woman! She ROCKS!!!

We were so pleased with Maryann Wood and CanineDimensions!! Having Maryann come to our home for training made all the difference for us. Our “high energy” 1 year old, black lab was jumping, (non aggressive) biting, pulling on the leash, not coming when called as well as other bad behavior. In our three sessions, Maryann helped us have a better relationship with our dog and helped us correct her behavior. Our dog is calmer and happier and so are we! We can’t thank Maryann enough. We wish we had done it sooner. I highly recommend Maryann and CanineDimensions.

I have a 2.5 yr old, 70lb goldendoodle whom I got at 9 weeks of age. I had researched many dog trainers in the north east, I discovered Canine Dimensions and gave them a call.Maryanne Wood in Vermont answered my numerous questions with patience, thoroughness and thoughtfulness. She did in two weeks WITHOUT A shock collar what other professional trainers said would take at least 4 weeks WITH A shock collar. After just a few days I was getting photos of Oakley at a farm just hanging out with other animals, swimming, going to the farmers market surrounded by other dogs, people, children, etc. I couldn't believe that was my dog! Oakley came back new and improved and Maryanne spent 2 hours working with me at the end, to show me how to continue working with Oakley and she continued to be available to answer whatever questions I had since then. Its been 9 mos and I can't tell you what a privilege it has been to know Oakley. She walks in a heel, no more leash reactivity, she's so well behaved that people often comment on her. She is a love and I could not be more proud of her!If you are considering dog training at any level, no matter what your needs, I recommend with the highest accolades, Maryanne Wood at Canine Dimensions.
