Nurse Next Door Home Care Services - Ottawa

We have been using the services of The Nurse Next Door for about 2 years now and have found in our experiences they are committed to providing a reliable professional and caring relationship, with an added personal touch, to meet the changing needs of our aging mother. The brief notes left from the Nurse gives us an idea of how the visit was spent as well as any any noticeable changes/concerns which may have risen between visits. Any immediate concerns are followed up with a phone call. We would definitely recommend the Nurse Next Door for your caring needs.

I worked for Nurse Next Door several years ago. My client did not have any food for the next morning. I asked the owner of the franchise if I should purchase groceries so our client could have breakfast. I was told by the owner that she would obtain groceries and deliver them to the client early the next morning. The owner arrived with groceries 15 minutes after I arrived at 3 pm with the much needed groceries. I was really upset by the owner's attitude as my client had dementia and would not be able to remember whether she had eaten or if there was any food. I quite immediately after. I view of the news coming out of the nursing and/or retirement homes during the pandemic, I believe it is necessary to sound the alarm with respect to shoddy services provided by such caregivers like Nurse Next Door. I was not trained for the position at all. I was told what my tasks were, but was not taught how to deal with Alzheimer and dementia patients. After my experience with Nurse Next Door, I would never rely on anyone to look after me in my own home. No starts for this outfit!

Nurse Next Door is a wonderful service. Tara and Cindy's attention to detail are exceptional when evaluating personal care needs for their clients. We hired Nurse Next Door when my father was released from the hospital last summer. The staff we very attentive and helpful to my father's needs and they did an excellent job taking care of him. My 97-year-old Aunt recently experienced a significant fall and was taken to hospital for diagnostics. Because of a severe Covid outbreak, they did not think it wise for her to be admitted. She was sent home unable to walk. I spent several hours attempting to liaise with an agency who could provide the assistance she required. Nurse Next Door was the only organization who not only could help immediately, but were eager to assist my Aunt with whatever she required. Cindy was my point-of-contact. She was consummately professional and extremely compassionate. I cannot recomment Nurse Next Door highly enough. Ottawa is fortunate to have them.

During the COVID pandemic since the end of March 2020, I have had the pleasure of working full-time with this great company at three different locations across the Ottawa. Our professional and dedicated nurses and PSWs are well-respected and valued wherever we go. Cindy, the care designer (owner/manager) and the rest of the admin team are extremely supportive and I always feel valued and appreciated as an employee.
