Dr Glen Surbey

Dr Surbey is retiring on June 15, 2022. He has been my doctor for many years now and I feel myself in very very good hands.He handlesevery detail very thoroughly , and refers when it is needed. He works very fast but we must remember thatthese doctors see the same cases over and over again, and are deluged with work. I remember my own father, a surgeon , who also taught surgery, and as a GP as well, saying most people only need an aspirin lol lol. We are very lucky to live in the age of modern medicine, in Oakville, near Trillium and Hamilton,, and not out in the boonies somewhere.

Dr Surbey is an excellent, caring doctor. We have been with him for many years. He will be missed on his retirement.

Dr Surbey has been my family doctor for years. He has always seen me at a healthy weight, until recently when I very obviously developed an eating disorder. To give you an idea of how obvious it is, I weigh 95lbs while the healthy weight for a 5'6 female ranges from 120-140lbs. It shouldn't take a doctor to see that a 5'6, 95-pound girl with fingernails tinted blue from malnutrition, and who hasn't had a period in months clearly has an eating disorder. Yet Surbey made no comments whatsoever on my weight. I don't know if it's because he lacks the knowledge or if he just didn't care to take a couple extra minutes to refer me to a nutritionist, but I would not recommend you ever visit this doctor.As for his receptionists, considering they're in the health care industry, you'd think that Julia and Nancy would be helpful and patient with visitors of the clinic. But instead, they are rude, condescending, and treat you as though your questions are a waste of their time.

Doctor Surbey is a good Doctor. Nancy his long time receptionist is the best. Dr. Surbey now has Eli answering the phone and he is also great and a breathe of fresh air. He is calm, patient and makes you feel comfortable even if he is busy.

Well, I was one of his first patients as a teenager in the late 80’s. Mixed feelings about Glenn. For the first 10 years it felt like he had no idea who I was and always wanted to see me every 3-4 weeks. I’d show up and he would ask what he could do for me. I’d say you wanted to see me and he’d just take my blood pressure and sent me on my way. Again the follow up appointments were awkward because he had not idea why I was back. Appointments themselves were generally okay and would prescribe really whatever you wanted…that can be good and bad.Nancy was there from the beginning and was very great with patients. As the practice grew she become bitter and not very pleasant to deal with. I believe this is his last day and truly believe he was checked out long ago. Although a review at this point is kinda pointless but also wanted to also wish him a happy healthy retirement.

Dr Surbey is a great doctor. Unfortunately, I had to change doctors as the travelling time was too great for me. I have COPD and ittook me 4 hrs. travelling, visit and the stress of the weather.God bless him and his family and I wish him well.I miss him.

Have always found Dr. Surbey and Nancy in particular to be of great help.
