The BEST dumplings ever in Montreal! The staff is so nice and kind there I always order their delicious pork dumplings, beef dumplings & lamb dumplings. their place is so beautiful❤️ I recommend to try their tea. I highly recommend Mai Xiang Yuan for dumplings here in Montreal!I always come back for more!!!!

Great Xiao long bao. We tried the pork and chive. The fried pork and cabbage dumplings were also good. Friendly staff, fairly priced.Only thing i disliked is that the tables are a little small and wobby, and theres not much room between tables.

Place is cash only, but they have an ATM up front. They calculate HST on top of the meal even though they're taking cash, so two plates of dumplings ended up being $40.Server was nice, conversational and upfront about the place being cash only.I had the curry beef dumplings, but they were bland and doughy. Soup dumplings weren't the best and still quite bland.

Great little place in Chinatown. Super delicious dumplings with good portion and sizing at reasonable prices. Tried the chefs choice to get a taste of various flavours and liked them all!They don’t accept card, but there is an ATM right at the door

Small dumpling restaurant in Chinatown, they only take cash! Bring your own or use the ATM that charges $2. The food tho was amazing and made to order, I would definitely go back again. My order was only $16

Food is delicious. I recommend the curry beef. Service is warm and fast. The lack of credit/debit could be a bummer, but the signs and the staff make sure to let you know and they warn you from the start. The atmosphere is cozy.

Read the previous comments for this restaurant. Shared the same comment from one of the critics.Witnessed that one ‘middle-aged waitress’ forced customers to pay more tips, and said in here Montreal, minimum 15% tips.She provided bad services, served with bad face without smile at all. If need to have good tips, need to learn how to provide good service with passion at work.L’Avenue (breakfast place, famous for providing good service) is a good place for her to learn. Those waitresses are worth for giving good tips instead.(Between, she should know other places have more tips because they accept credit card as well, not just cash!)

Montréal is popular for dumplings! I suspect due to its geography, northern Chinese cuisine gained popularity in Chinatown. Mai Xiang Yuan is one spot. It resembles a hole-in-the-wall on street side, but its dumpling logo is can’t-miss.We tried a plate of 15 steamed dumplings (lamb & cilantro), along with a platter of 15 fried dumplings (pork, cilantro & shrimp). The plump steamed dumplings were flavourful with lamb juice, even before dipping in vinegar/soy sauce. The thick handmade wrappers were just ideal for such traditional dumplings. The fried dumplings were served with a crispy bottom layer, and included decent amount of pork & shrimp. However, the latter was a bit greasy so we left stuffed.Dumpling portions were quite large at reasonable prices. Note the store is cash only, but provides an ATM at the entrance if you’re short on cash. Staff were sure to inform guests this was a no-cash / no-service establishment!

Nice dumpling place! The taste is a bit different than what I’m used to for dumplings but I liked it.
