What a fun little home down spot. Prices were good, food was better. We so enjoyed stopping at this rustic diner in the heart of Wheatley.

Lil Hil's Coffee Shop
Had take-out breakfast one day and dine-in breakfast the second day while camping at Wheatley Provincial Park. Lil Hil's is less than a 5 minute drive from park main gate. Lil Hil's is at the Talbot Trail golf course/club. Food was good, hot and tasty. Portion sizes were good and prices quite reasonable. There is not much ambiance here, it's one big open room with vaulted ceilings with a mix of 6-person round tables, 6- to 12-person rectangle tables and a few bar height tables for 2- to 4-people. I give the restaurant 5 stars, but I'd give the service 4 stars because it could be better - a bit more attentive, and a bit more enthusiastic. Overall, it's a good place and I recommend it.

We decided to stop here while staying in the area based on the good reviews and a few photos of tasty looking breakfast. While the food was pretty good and cooked well and our server was very nice, we just couldn’t get over how dirty everything was… We first noticed the super crusty condiments, next we were delivered chipped and stained mugs (the one with the interior stains could be scratched off with some effort… I couldn’t bring myself to use it and asked for another) and a crusty milk jug with chunks of semi dried milk on the rim. We then tried to use the sugar that was cemented inside the container. It was pretty obvious nothing in the way of condiments or menus were being sanitized between customers either (pre pandemic no biggie but I feel it’s standard practice now). The women’s bathroom smelled like musty towels that were left wet for a week and the air in the restaurant is overwhelmingly musty… I just feel a little ill thinking about eating there again. At least our server was great!

Foods great! Not to be rude but yall have to stop putting burgers/wraps in the same container as a poutine. Once again my burger was soggy from the gravy..

Biked to the restaurant while camping at the wheatley provincial park. The restaurant is on a golf course and pretty close to the camp. Very nice views, fantastic pricing and very good food. The three stars are only because of the service. The waitress serving us felt very stoic and transactional. I feel the restaurant could do with a slightly warmer and kinder service

The food was quite good, although the service on the other hand was awful. The owner was hacking and coughing around the restaurant the entire time my wife and I were there. Keep in mind, we are older adults with very serious underlying health conditions. We are from out of town and wanted to try something new for lunch, we understand that masks are no longer mandatory, but staying home when ill, especially when you’re making the food, would be very much appreciated, especially with covid now on the rise.

A busy place for a Sunday morning. They offered a breakfast buffet for $15 as well as regular menu items.Food was great and friendly staff.
