Camping et chalets de la Demi-Lieue

Totally relaxed after spending 4 days here with family. I will definitely return!Beautiful view of the river even though we did not have a campsite on the edge of the water. All we had to do was reposition our chairs a little closer to the edge of our land like many other visitors did, and voila, a breathtaking view.Staff was polite and friendly. Cleaning crew came often to clean the facilities, which included showers, flushing toilets and a sink area for washing dishes. Staff drove by to make sure all was good and also had fire wood in pickup for sale. Pool and play area was fun for the kids. Camp site was clean and had picnic table and fire pit. We rented a spot with two services which were water and electricity.

La vue de notre emplacement était vraiment superbe et le camping est avantageusement situé à côté de la Roche-à-Veillons. Malheureusement, là s’arrêtent les points positifs de notre visite. Les emplacements pour les tentes sont petits, n’offrent aucune intimité et notre Honda civic semblait trop imposante pour se stationner sur l’emplacement sans empiéter sur celui du voisin. Nous déconseillons de se rendre à ces emplacements avec un VUS ou une camionnette. De plus les installations sanitaires, bien que propres, auraient besoins d’entretien et il n’y a que de l’eau brûlante dans la douche qui coûte d’ailleurs 0,25$ à utiliser. Il nous a fallu aller ailleurs pour réussir à nous laver.Si votre but est de vous reposer, il est bon de noter qu’il y a des fêtes avec de la musique très forte qu’on entend même si elle est à l’autre bout du camping. C’est décidément un camping qui semble fait uniquement pour les saisonniers et pas pour les voyageurs de passage avec leur tente.

really bad service, I called 5 times to make reservation and the girl just speak French,telling me : we don't speak English, bye!!!

Merveilleuse expérience au Camping de la demie-lieu. Les installations sont parfaites pour les enfants. Nathalie nous a offert un service à la clientèle impeccable et particulièrement digne de mention. Merci! Nous y retournerons sans hésiter!

Nice place and excellent service.

I stayed at Camping La Demie Lieue twice, initially on the recommendation of a trusted friend. I was on a road trip from Nova Scotia to Ontario and stayed overnight on my way up and for 2 nights on my return trip.I can't speak highly enough about my experience. The setting right on the shores of the St. Lawrence River is absolutely wonderful. The tent campsites are small but set right on the banks of the river like they are I was so very happy. How lovely to fall asleep with the sound of the waves gently breaking on the rocks just feet from my small tent!The staff at the office were fluently bilingual and very friendly. The entire site is well laid out, organized, meticulously clean and very quiet. There are showers and flush toilets right in the tent camping area. They are very well maintained and extremely clean. I also appreciated the outside sink that made it easy to get water for washing dishes, etc. The guy who drives down each evening to sell firewood and act as security was most gracious and helpful when my fire pit needed to be moved. The wood isn't the greatest quality, but has lots of kindling in it and is soft enough that you don't have a hardwood fire going half the night!Not only is the campsite lovely, but the entire region was a lot of fun to spend time exploring. Lots of photo ops; the sculptures that you find everywhere are a lot of fun. And the frequent municipal look off points along the Highway 132 are great. Lots of small restaurants and lovely old Quebec churches as well as traditional houses and great vistas are everywhere.I can't wait to get back to the St. Jean-Port Joli region and to camp again at La Demie Lieue. I think I might even head up for a week next summer just to explore the area and gaze at the lights along the North Shore begin to twinkle as the sun sets and night overtakes the landscape. Lovely. Simply Lovely.

Un des plus beaux camping au Québec. Jeux d’eau piscine, plusieursaires de jeux pour enfants, terrain de tennis, soccer, baseball, jeux gonflables couvert, bref parfait pour les familles. Vue sur le fleuve incroyable, accueil au bord de l’eau. Vérifiez bien la grandeur du site avant de louer, certains sont petits.

I just tried to book a night there but the person on the phone could hardly understand me in English. I was told I couldn't stay one night (Wednesday) I had to book 2. When I said I was on a long trip and just needed one night, she hung up on me. Wow!
