Goldenfield Kennel

Lucky to have our Goldens from here, our little baby girl will celebrate her 2nd birthday soon, thanks to Karen, the owner of the Goldfield Kennel, who loves animals and really take great care of them. My golden is so healthy and easy going, and she is our top star dog around my neighbors.

It had snowed the previous night, stopped snowing. When I went to p/u my dog there were no tracks to the barn where the kennels are. Meaning to me that the dogs had not been out. Further to that, when I knocked on the house door , I had no answer. I called several times and was met with the same and could hear the phone inside. And they were expecting me. After 10 mins I yelled in and a youth had no idea why I was at the door. I could hear yelling from a distant room of the price/cost I owed from boarding my dog. It’s a real shame , as the people were nice to me however the communication and caring for a boarded dog are not up to par. I understand these people have personal lives as well, but people care a lot about their pets and rely on these services and expect good communication and amenities. At the very least please do not ignore people’s calls when clearly at least two people were there and I could hear the phone outside ringing. This could be a one off but nothing has lead me to believe so.

The absolute love of our lives was born here. Karen and her family are amazing people and she knows her goldens.

Lots of beautiful puppies come from this home and they are well taken care of and handled lots by her kids. I get many compliments how beautiful my dog is (now almost 3 years old). The lack of reviews on this business shows how great this family is doing at breeding puppies because usually people only review when they have a problem.

Goldenfield is a really well run enterprise. The pups are handled from the day they are born and their temperment as they get older shows it.I own a 4 yr. old Michael" and he is the light of my life. I just had him for his checkup and he is a perfect weight of 75 lbs; his hips are excellent; and his skin is great i.e. no retriever hot spots.Can't say enough. The most beautiful Goldens in entire ON. Before we got our shadow, I looked at several places but no one beats Goldenfield. Even our vets and the new trainer praised the originality of the breed.Also, they just don't give you a puppy and forget. We got the training wrong a bit and they helped us correct our puppy and for no charge. That speaks a lot about their ethics and love for their puppies. Highly recommend if you're looking for a Golden.

Fantastic kennel, great place to board your dog, Karen loves every animal that comes into her house and kennel. She has the best Golden Retriever puppies. Her dogs are so healthy and beautiful and well taken care of.
