It is worth the short drive off the highway to eat here. The food is good - check out the monster cookies! We had western sandwiches and they were done just the way I like them. The price is fair and the servers are the best. This is my new go-to when I am in the area.

Quaint. Food tasty. Latte with maple sugar as a special treat. Generous portions. Vegetarian options. Everything made from scratch including the bread. Even the marshmallows home-made.

Delicious lemon slice with an ice cool coffee. Lovely little place with loads of character. We sat in the shaded picnic area and watched the world go by!

This place deserves 10 stars!!I visit a lot of bakeries (just ask my scale ;-))…Black Bear Cafe is now at the top of my favourites for a few reasons.1) Best White Bread Loaf EVER!!2) Best Customer Service - You know that employees are treated well here, because they seem to genuinely love their work…great experience every time!3) Reasonable Prices - maybe because they are not paying city rents.4) Not a one trick pony - Terrific Breakfast (my favourite is the western sandwich) amazing date squares…and the Brownie (chewy, chocolate perfection).If you are travelling Hwy 17 (Trans Can)….stop!!! It’s well worth the 3km detour.
