Working with Simmering to reupholster a vintage mid-century modern chair was the way to go. They have an amazing inventory of textiles to choose from and Kim Craik always has great advice. Their work was high quality, quick, and reasonably priced. They also helped me out in a pinch when I made a mistake with my measurements, for no extra cost. Amazing customer service. I will be going back!

After our golden retriever destroyed the cushions on our leather sofa, Jim was excellent in finding matching material. The new cushions perfectly matched our sofa and the quailty was excellent. Highly recommended.

My 88 year old father needed a cushion to supplement the one on his recliner chair.I called Karen on Friday morning at Simmering Upholstery and explained that my dad was recently diagnosed with cancer and that he needed this cushion for his chair. She quoted me a reasonable price and was able to have it ready for me that afternoon. When Dad tried it out, he said it’s too firm, could we have it a little softer. So today, Monday, I called them back and inquired about getting the foam changed out. Sure, no problem, we can do that and it will be ready tomorrow. At 2:40 pm I received a call telling me the cushion was done! I picked it up, fully expecting a charge for the new foam - not at all! You’ve already paid for it. We recently had our sofa recovered after 20yrs of use! From start to finish the whole experience from this local and family run business was first class, Kim and her experience helped us choose fabric from the vast choice and Jim made us feel so at ease and welcome, we never felt rushed or pressured.The new recovered sofa arrived this morning looking brand new and exactly when we were told it would.I have no hesitation to highly recommend Simmering upholstery.Great job everyone.

My first experience dealing with Simmering as a consumer, and I have to say it was excellent from start to finish.I wanted to recover a couple of very old IKEA recliners. Despite shopping around for brand new, I couldn't find anything even close to what I already owned, and did not want to buy anything in leather.I was fortunate enough to have purchased some upholstery fabric from IKEA years ago -- but it was not quite enough to do both chairs. After looking at a lot of fabric samples, I asked if Simmering could take fabric from a loveseat cover for a portion of the chair. The results are below.It was a long process from initially inquiring could the recliners be recovered, to receiving the finished chairs -- but the wait was worth it. The chairs look brand new, are comfortable to sit in (new foam seat) and look nothing like the original chairs. Not pictured are the extra arm caps and head rests Simmering made with extra fabric.Simmering did a great job, and I wouldn't hesitate to get something recovered with them again.

First visit was great . Very hospitable and welcoming. Made an in-house appointment to show the project I need the help with . Owner was supposed to come over . Got a call from another customer representative saying he is sick and they will contact me later on with rescheduling. I totally understand , health always comes first but I never got a call later days to reschedule the appointment . Poor follow up and I feel my business is not appreciated.I’m sure I will find another shop that offers better follow skills.

Jim Simmering was recommended to us by Nada from The Bay downtown and we are so pleased that she shared! Jim came out to see what we needed and gave us a ballpark quote depending on what material we found for my parent's chair. We followed up by going to Simmering's place of business to finalize our choices and were given our quote. Jim came back out to pick up both chairs and gave us an ETA. Both the quote and the ETA were accurate and as you can see, the chairs turned out fabulous! Thank you to Jim and his team! We highly recommend Simmering to anyone looking to have upholstery done.

They did a miracle job with my Indian sofa. I can't believe my eyes. Most reasonable and hardworking place in Calgary. I would strongly recommend them. Jim and Nattalia are geat team. They delivered all the way to Chestermere for free. Can't thank enough for everything. Used the same fabric again and fix it was a big challenge but they did an excellent job. Thank you Jim.
