Maple Leaf Furniture Refinishing

I had an antique rocker that needed major repairs, which they did expertly. They picked it up from my home and sent me regular photo updates...until today. I found out why when I got the rocker back. They did not even try to match the finish on the cane on the seat to the cane on the back of the chair. It looks terrible, and the finish was very sloppily applied. The caning and frame repairs were so expertly done and the woodwork is so beautifully restored, why did they fall down at the finish line? I will have to remove this awful finish and try redoing it myself, and that is not what I expected for the price that I paid. So I can only recommend them if they are totally redoing the cane, and maybe not even then. UPDATE: They took the rocker back and matched the seat to the back, removing the horrible yellow shellac. Why they didn't do it in the first place is a mystery. So, if you use them, get REGULAR work in progress photos and be sure to see the 'final' before it is delivered. ADDENDUM MAY 2022: The rocker broke in the same location on May 15. They had a subcontractor do the frame repair and he 'found a piece of wood' --not oak, as I requested, but some very old wood that broke like a cracker and took the old repair with it. So the repair lasted a little more than one year. The caning held. I would recommend them for caning, but for NOTHING else.

Excellent service! I have an old wicker peacock chair that had the seat fall through due to the aging material. I took it to Margo and her team who tried to repair it without having to dismantle the chair itself. Unfortunately the first repair didn't hold—the wicker was just too old—but Margo came over to pick it up for a second try! She installed a beautiful new seat that's still holding strong, plus her super friendly colleague brought back to my door. I really appreciate their dedication to save this piece with a new technique after the first didn't work out, and their insistence on making the second attempt so convenient by both picking it up, and dropping it off. Very nice and skilled people, highly recommend.

No personal issues. Margo as person might be good or bad that’s not my issue . She charges high fees . I might be wrong but extremely expensive..

High integrity and professionalism. Brought in an Islamic antique artifact to be cleaned. But Margo decided not to work on it until she got the piece assessed by an expert in antiques as to the best way to deal with it, without even charging me for that. Thank you!

I was delivering something to the auto shop connected to the rear of this business (I now know it’s connected to the rear, it was my first time there and a massive truck was blocking the driveway so I could not see the side door) anyway I rang the bell and a lady came to the door immediately rolling her eyes at me before I even said one word ! I politely said who I was looking for and again rolling her eyes at me and nearly shutting the door on me she then said go to the back. I can not believe the amount of ignorance and how incredibly rude she was when clearly if I knew where it was I would not have rang her bell. Absolutely so incredibly rude and to roll your eyes at someone for not knowing? Incredibly rude.

I called this shop to ask some questions , the woman answering the phone gave me a non helpful answer quick answer and told me she had to go abruptly and hung up on me.I would never go to a shop that treats customers this way
