Fast and friendly service with reasonable prices for prebattered fried chicken and fish meals. Soup and sandwich options were not available. Handy to the harbour for mackerel fishing and watching marine traffic.

We were staying in Guysborough for two weeks and on one of our tours we went through Canso. It was lunch time so we decided to stop into AJ's for a bite to eat. Great service and prices. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They made us feel welcomed.My wife had the 10 scallops and onion rings and thoroughly enjoyed them. Jan stated that they were lightly breaded, not greasy and were the best that she has ever had. Me being a vegetarian, I had the vegetarian pizza. Great taste and the crust was the best that I have had in a long time. Jan took a couple of pieces and enjoyed them as well. Jan never eats the crust but devoured this crust this time. Not doughy at all more like a crusty roll. We are from Ontario and really enjoyed this food experience. The washrooms were clean and stocked. A nice down-home environment.I only wish that AJ's was in our home town. Definitely made our day. Too bad that we discovered AJ's at the end of our vacation, otherwise, we would have returned.

The Donair was delicious. The fries were crisp, hot and fresh. Our hostess was very attentive and courteous. Definately a great choice for our excursion. I'll be back when the entertainment is playing next.

I was extremely happy with my meal at AJs! The pizza was delicious, tons of toppings and amazing crust. My mom got fish and poutine which was also very good, some of the best fish I've had in a while! Very crunchy, fresh and cooked perfectly. I think one of the best things about this place was the friendly customer service, that's what takes a resturant from good to great! I'll be back!

Ist time visiting. Enjoyed 10 scallops with onion rings. Very good-not greasy. Hubby had vegi pizza- also very good. We also especially loved the crust of pizza

Best pizza I have had. Every Saturday if I'm down canso we always get our pizza from AJs and they never fail me :) see ypu in a couple weeks :)

While my food was hot and cooked I was given sour cream with my mozzarella sticks....very odd and I'm not a fan. 2nd time I ordered chicken and a poutine the poutine was mediocre at best and my chicken tasted freezer burnt. Staff and Service were very friendly but food was lacking.

There are very few places to eat in and around Canso so we stopped here for lunch during a visit to the town. I had a Thunder crunch chicken sandwich and it was good but we also had the fish & chips and the fish was not that good (Seemed to be freezer burnt), which should just not happen in a place like Canso which is a fishing port.

It's the only place in town! We went for lunch. One girl taking orders cooking and serving. Every thing is deep fried except the pizza is baked. We had the fish and chips, It was a little over cooked and the fish pieces were small but we were hungry so it was edible food! The girl worked hard and was very pleasant!

Ordered a nice fish and chips from the take out window. Extremely friendly staff. Quick service. While waiting, noticed a lot of locals taking out food. That’s a good sign.We got our fish and chips and it was indeed very good. Well done folks.One friendly wish: make the patio a real little patio. Would make a lovely little corner there.Thank you for the service!
