Glo Skin Bar + Dispensary

I have made a few visits at the Face Bar. The visits have been nice, with a few shortcomings that are key in delivering a good customer service. I had a Lamprobe session scheduled as per the suggestion of a staff at Face Bar, and at the time, I was informed that depending on how much time it may take for me, the session may either be 15 minutes or longer up to 30 minutes. While the session for me lasted for 23 minutes, I was charged for the full price of 30 minutes. I did not dispute this, and I would have appreciated the adjustment of the price for delivery of a fair and good customer service. Similarly, I have found the staff to deliver different information about the same services, which has been confusing. Another time, I was overcharged for a service, and had I not noticed it in a receipt, I would have missed it. I do appreciate that the staff usually takes about 5 or more minutes additional time for a facial, however, a couple of times, I have had to wait for about 10 to 20 minutes than my scheduled time for an appointment. I am sure people would appreciate if they are taken in the exact time or only a few minutes later than their scheduled appointment. Thank you!

Christina at Glo made my first facial such a great experience. I received the Purge Facial along with a microdermabrasion. She explained everything in detail prior to doing it, answered all my questions along with giving me recommendations. She asked if I had anywhere to be as I was her last client of the day, so she took her time and made my skin look amazing. I highly recommend seeing her at your Glo visit. I will definitly be back to see her!

Customer service was excellent. They were super friendly to both me and my friend (who didn't even have an appointment). Anna talked me through all the steps in my facial and was gentle throughout.Also everything was very clean and had a relaxing ambience over all :)

I had the peel facial with Tanya and was very happy with the results. She did a wonderful job and the aftercare products completed the entire treatment. My skin's tone and texture significantly improved. A reasonable cost for a very effective treatment. I would definitely recommend this facial.

I personally cannot say enough about The Face Bar. The ladies are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly, the space is always spotless and relaxing and the products are incredible. The way my skin has evolved from my first visit baffles me, I went from a face full of acne to now skipping foundation. Was hesitant on buying products at first, but I have tried a large majority of them and they are all spectacular and very reasonable compared to some others. 12/10 recommend The Face Bar to anyone looking to show some love to their skin!

I was super impressed with the care and attention I received at my purge appointment every time i come in. I remember the very first time I came in, Cristina welcomed me in with a friendly smile. First Impressions count so much! She is truly Great! She was very tentative and thorough on explaining with detail what she was doing and what products she was using on my face. I felt relaxed and at ease. I was pretty impressed with the final result. My face never have felt better. Thanks Again Cristina you are Amazing!

I purchased two services in the Winter, the first was the peel which was fine enough and the second service I never received after asking if I could be refunded the amount I never used due to personal reasons. They told me I could not be refunded and they offered me a credit to use on their products instead. This already seemed awfully unfair considering I never received the service I purchased but I accepted my losses and picked out a couple products instead. One of which was out of stock and I was told they would update me once they had it back in stock. It has been over three months and I have sent 2 follow up emails for any updates because as far as I am concerned I have wasted my money now, unfortunately I have yet to be acknowledged. I am all for investing in yourself and your skin, but considering the money I spent I feel I should be respected as a customer. Not to mention after the one service I did receive I was pressured into purchasing other products which made me uncomfortable.

Before they switched locations I had bought their membership package. Between COVID-19 mandatory lockdowns I was unable to use these facials that I paid for. Afterwards I had moved away from Winnipeg temporarily for my degree program. Once I returned I tried to contact them about information regarding these remaining services that I PAID for in advance but could never use because of all of these unforeseen closures which is no one’s fault. They essentially dismissed me and said my membership had expired, failing to refund me or to return any other email inquiries about the situation after escalating me to their new operational manager. Great business ethics! Also please be aware that the name associated with my google account is not the name in which I purchased these services under, however I am a very real customer who is beyond disappointed in how this played out. Reading the reviews before me only confirms that my experience is one that is common with this business. Buyer beware.

Update: forwarded my original email chain with them (as per their response to my post) and still have no heard a response. 5 days later still awaiting a response…Membership beware. In context of google reviews I have actually never wrote a 1 star review before, ideally always trying to resolve issues with management first. However the lack of response from this company (been waiting over two weeks) to address my concern leaves this as the only option. After my recent experience with Glo Skin Bar formally known as The Face Bar I think individuals should be cautious with the membership program. Despite really enjoying my past services and the pleasant technicians at the Face Bar I ended up having three left over facials over the 10 month period. (it is actually very difficult to keep up with once a month facials). I called asking to cancel the membership in July and was advised I could still use the remaining 3 facials. Needless to say I called to book in September only to find out The Facebar closed! No communication was made to their clients nor was I made aware when I called to cancel my membership (they would have known it was closing in July). Their offer of being able to 'honour' one facial only leaves me very disappointed. They were not upfront about their store changing names/locations and i was told inaccurate information that would have influenced my decision about cancelling the membership. The average cost of my facials over the ten month period cost me more than the non member pricing. All in all very disappointed and hoping for a resolution from this company.
