Maham & Pop's Donair & Poutine

This place was highly recommended but was extremely disappointing.Donair plate is usually a Donair, Greek potatoes, Greek salad, hummus and pita.What did I get? Meat only, fries, bland hummus, and some shredded sour green blob for salad. No tzatziki sauce either.Thankfully Door Dash gave me credits back so I could order what I was expecting from somewhere else.

Got the chicken shawarma plate. Decent size, tipped them as well so maybe why. First time here. Food is not bad, would have liked to been offered garlic sauce or tzatziki over the chicken. Tasted dry.

I enjoy eating here. They are the only Donair place that serves a sweet Donair sauce. Other places only have tzatziki. Wraps might feel a bit small for the price but taste delicious and have fresh veggies. Walk in orders currently get free drinks too!

Maham & Pops is a tiny gem tucked away with a great atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and chill! We absolutely love this place and the vibes. Oh and really great prices! The falafel wrap is stellar!!!! And donairs.

First time going here today and was super impressed. I've tried shawarma from a few other places in Victoria and this is definitely at the top of the list of the places I've tried. Basically a Shawarma Subway except with far higher quality ingredients and is obviously family run. Lots of veggie and sauce options. Great vegan or vegetarian options. The staff were very friendly. I had a falafel wrap and the falafel was scooped fresh from a container of batter into the fryer. It tasted amazing, you could tell it was made from scratch. I will be back and I will bring others with me!!!

This is my favorite spot to stop for a filling fair priced vegan meal! I would highly recommend the vegan shawarma plate, it is a generous portion! You can request extra veg as well, which I do because the veg are always fresh and full of flavour! The staff are friendly, and the owner makes you feel like family when you walk in the door. This is my first and last stop when visiting Victoria!

I have high standards for shawarma as I’m used to high quality shawarma in Ottawa but this place is pretty bad. I wanted to like it. But the servings are small for 17$ and it feels like the workers are a bit aloof. One of the blonde worker w a hat was literally on a call using his airpod the entire time. The meat wasn’t even warm and I ate it right in the restaurant. The chicken is dry and tasteless but the beef donair is ok. Garlic sauce sucks but the sweet donair sauce was good. The taboleh is fine. The best part of the entire meal was the pita which was only good fresh then turned stale so so quick. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone to be honest, I felt like no one was trying and there wasn’t any heart in the food. Super disappointed since it’s close to where I live. At least there’s parking out front.

Absolutely love this place. Granted, I have only had the beef donair but the toppings are fresh and the meat is warm every time. I especially love their sweet sauce. The customer service is also superb. They are extremely patient and kind when taking orders. Gotta check them out and support local!

Came here with the family to try it out! Glad to see that Victoria is getting more halal foods and making some waves in the city. The food was amazing, meat was tender and juicy, rice was tasty and the service and staff are friendly. My only flaw is the limited parking, here’s hoping they can expand into a bigger store soon. Would recommend and come again!

Whatever these folks are doing here its working! The staff are so welcoming and NICE. They work flawlessly as a team and are putting out some of the best food.The shawarma poutine is killer with sweet sauce and diced tomatoes.Vegan shawarma plate is of catastrophic proportions. Crispy potatoes and soft sweet rice with the mushroom mixture is out of control.
