I called on Tuesday to see if they rented wheelchairs. The lady on the phone confirmed that they did at $75 per 4 weeks. When I sent someone today (Wednesday) to pick one up, they were told they no longer rent wheelchairs. Their policy changed in less than 24 hours? This is very frustrating and a complete waste of time.

I had a good experience in the store when I purchased a hospital type bed along with several other items totaling over $5,000 for an ailing senior friend but not so much when the bed needed to be repaired. They charged me $100 to send a repairman to access the bed which wasn’t necessary as I sent them pictures of the part that was obviously damaged. If that wasn’t enough, the guy they sent said the four-year-old $3,000 bed was a write off because the manufacturer told him the part I needed was no longer available. I called the manufacturer myself, got the part for $105 and had it installed for another $200. Much better than spending another $3,000 plus delivery and HST to replace the bed.I mentioned I thought it was unfair to charge $100 to send someone who obviously doesn’t have a clue about the repairs on the beds they sell but my concerns were ignored.Update: Not long after I posted this review I was contacted and refunded the $100 plus HST that was paid for the repairman to visit the site the bed is at as well as given what I believe to be a sincerely apology for the oversight and my trouble. Much appreciated. I will still do business here again in the future should the need arise.

I want to send this to your company regarding your policy on fixing the control for my lift chair. It took a week just to have a appointment for someone to check my broken control. The wires came undone and I could not get up or down from my chair. I have to live in my chair, sleep, awake, 24 hours a day. When the man was here he put on a new control. I was so excited that I would be able to use my chair. ( I had to use my other lift chair but it is not as perfectly fitted as my broken chair.).. I had to tie my legs together to keep them from falling off the leg rest. That caused me great pain, no sleep and being very sad. The repair man said your policy is that they had to order the control and I had to pay first. I would have paid 3 times the cost to stop being in pain in my chair. Another 2 weeks before the new control came in. 3 whole weeks all together.I was told people were taking advantage of the company so they no longer bring a new control right away. So as a senior with many illnesses had to wait 3 weeks in pain. I had to put boxes in front of my chair so I could get a little rest by putting my legs on the boxes.The repair man saw right away the control was the problem yet I still had to wait for a new control. A large company like yours should be able to put the repair mans control in before he leaves. I do not know what I will do the next time the control wires break again. You have the monopoly on the control so therefore people like me and I am sure many other people suffer because he was not allowed to give me the control before he left. Another 2 weeks waiting, in pain until the new part came in.Please explain to me why, oh why you do business this way? My leg is still in pain because I had to wait so long. If you cannot change your policy regarding my problem I do not know what I will do when this happens again, I know it will. Please, please figure something out. Of course I would pay up front to solve this problem.Signed a very, very disappointed senior disabled woman who used to love your company. Now you hold me hostage in my chair when the control does not work. I guess I have to spend another $1,499.00 on another chair waiting for the control break. I hate saying all these negative things about your policy but I am so afraid of going through this the next time. I expected a much better fix from the company I formerly had no problems with. Won’t stand behind their products. Their OTC braces are non-refundable even if poorly constructed. I contacted the company that sold the product and they claimed it’s on the retailer to provide the exchange/refund (but Wellwise policy is no refunds). There are much cheaper and better quality options available online. The item I purchased was not functional after a few weeks of use/- the Velcro was not sticky and was also unfinished with sharp edges, resulting in a deep scratch on my baby. For the kind of injury the brace treats, I’d expect it’d last a bit longer. The store would get 1 star, but the customer service reps were nice, so 2 stars.

Fantastic Service!I needed a knee brace for a meniscus tear and first went to the Whitby store at Kendalwood plaza. I received excellent service there but they didn't have the size I needed so off to Ajax I went. Ajax store opened a few minutes after I arrived. Joseline (sp?) asked me if she could help. I explained what I needed and she found the right brace. She let me try it on in a separate room for privacy. While at first I didn't think it fit properly Joseline came to the recuse and helped with the fit. Joseline offered to let me try a second brace for fit and comparison all while she was handling 3 customers at the same time! I didn't get the other reps name but she too was very helpful with her customers. Customer Service is lacking in so many business these days that it was a very pleasant surprise to find the staff so knowledgeable, helpful and caring. These ladies are underpaid for their positions. Highly recommend!

Alex was super helpful and went above and beyond to ensure I got everything I needed and more! She was understanding of my needs and was able to help me get a wheelchair on last minutes notice. She ensured my husband was able to come home to me sooner!! I can’t thank her enough for all her help! Plus she was super nice and friendly!!

It's a few years that I've been buying stuff for my mom here. Every time I have felt a genuine interest in the staff to help. Today I went back to ask where I can buy a spare part for something I had bought before, and to my utmost surprise, not only they carried the part, but also they were kind enough to give it to me for free. It didn't matter how much it may have cost, but the kindness worthed a million to me.
