We Love Pets Colchester - Dog Walker, Pet Sitter & Home Boarder

We have used their service twice. They respond well to emails and enquiries, also on arrival the experience was fine.However, we will not be using them again and feel unable to recommend them to anyone.We recently got married and entrusted our Dalmatian puppy to them, she had been for her trial night and all was fine. We dropped her off and 30 hours later we were enjoying our wedding. I happened to check my phone later that evening and noticed I had missed calls and text messages from someone advising me that they found our dog running the streets near to the home boarders property.In short I was advised that the male member of the team left the property and shut the outer gate only, apparently our dog unlocked the gate and escaped. The lady onsite admitted that only one gate was shut, I question how they know it was definitely our dog that opened the gate!! The inner gate should have been shut, but wasn’t.Our dog was found within 100 metres of the property by someone else and for me this not good enough, to this day we have still paid fully for this very poor service. To have a licence you must conform, the service didn’t conform for us, and I am convinced this shows a lack of control and care, I cannot believe this has only been left insecure on this one occasion.She was very quick to defend their service, “it was all our dogs fault” and they “understand how we feel”, this was stated many times but not once a “sorry, it’s our fault for allowing your dog to be found running the streets”, within 2 minutes of this I then received instructions on how loose my dogs collar was but it’s ok as she secured it. I have walked our 6 month old puppy hundreds of times already, the collar was fine and not the cause of any issue now or previously, this level of deflection from the real issue I didn’t appreciate. They allowed my dog to be left on the street by not keeping the property secure, she was found by a member of the public and anything could have happened, we are lucky to have her back and in one piece.We have since cancelled a further booking as I do not feel comfortable in allowing them to look after our Dalmatian, I did not even receive an apology to make me feel that this was one off and that we should try them again. I was just left feeling like it was our fault, it wasn’t. I have used home boarders for over 16 years and this is the worst service I have experienced by miles.Just an honest review based on the service.

Our black lab loves his stays with Simon and Leah. Its a great comfort that we can go away on holiday knowing that he is happy and amongst friends. We could never go back to leaving him with a standard kennel

I have sent my puppy Buddy (almost 10 months) to Simon & Leah twice for home boarding & am really happy with the service they provide. My dog is a lab & at times can be hard work as he is still young and in training, Simon & Leah are great with him, follow his daily schedule best they can & know exactly how to cater for his needs. Their dog Koda is great with Buddy, they go on walks by the beach & he always comes home super sleepy after having so much fun. I feel really comfortable leaving him with them & will continue to use them going forward! Thank you

From the moment we met Simon and Leah we knew we were putting our puppy in safe hands. Betsy was a 6 month old Newfoundland with an abundance of energy like all puppies do. Simon and Leah’s calming dedicated nature immediately put our minds at rest. Betsy attends daily walks and once a week day care. Because of the lock down we were unable to socialise Betsy in the normal manner so her interaction with other dogs when with Simon and Leah has become invaluable and her confidence and recall have improved immensely. Betsy now waits by the door each morning ready for them to arrive. I feel blessed to have found Simon and Leah and I can’t thank them enough for the love and care they give Betsy every day.

Great company to use. Very professional and really care about the animals and the service they offer.My dog is so excited every time staff walk him and I know he is in safe hands. Could not recommend highly enough. So happy I have found this company.

We have been so so impressed with the level of service we have received for our two spaniels from We Love Pets Colchester. They are so flexible and our pups absolutely love their visits from Maria! The photos and videos always bring a smile to our face, and we would highly recommend to other pet owners. We now have two very happy pups whilst we’re out at work!

Simon, Leah and their team of fab dog walkers are simply brilliant! I can rest assured that my dog is safe and getting good exercise/socialisation. Good communication, value for money, trustworthy and reliable.I've relied on Simon and Leah for dog sitting too - a home from home for my dog. They've gone out of their way to help pick up and drop off, as a non-driver, and haven't ever charged extra for this! Lovely folks who really do love pets! :)

I didn't know Simon and Leah before they started boarding my dog for me. Simon and Leah are completely professional, before starting regular boarding for me, they met with me to discuss, what I needed when I needed it and discussed in detail about my dog and her needs. She always looks forward to seeing them! I do drive to Colchester for home boarding but I wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of my dog. Friendly, reliable and caring!

Simon and Leah are amazing!They are truly passionate about what they do and are so caring and so so helpful, often at short notice. They are super reliable and dependable and very professional.My Husksy absolutely loves them both and they are so kind to her.. she gets taken on some lovely walks and has been so calm and well behaved since they have been walking her.I would highly recommend them and would never have her walked or looked after by anyone else.A tip top service!!Thank you so much Simon and Leah for your kind care.
