My dining experience at Vish was truly exceptional. My husband and I were invited for lunch and were served a selection of the menu.The tasting platter came with the BEST baba ghanoush we’ve ever tried and the Ethiopian tahini was so smooth and creamy. My husband who is not a fan of tahini couldn’t resist going for seconds and thirds.The falafel platter came with rice and salad. The salad was very fresh and the vibrant green falafel was so delicious.I prefer vegan sources of protein, so the vegan shawarma was right up my alley. It was cooked perfectly, and went so well with the hummus and fresh bread.Last but not least, the halal bbq pulled beef sandwich. 24hr slow cooked brisket with all the toppings made it the star of the meal. My husband and I were shocked at its size when it arrived at the table. Every bite was flavourful, and there wasn’t a crumb left.Overall, we were delighted and full when we left. We can’t wait to explore more of their delicious creations. Highly recommended!

Visit: April 2023I went to check out Vish after winning a gift card and it did not disappoint!The food was high quality and the flavors had a lot of depth.The atmosphere was also very nice, with a cozy, homelike feel.We got the chicken shawarma combo, BBQ pulled beef combo, Moroccan fish combo, and power shakeI found the hummus to be very thick, creamy, and rich, with a pronounced nutty flavour. It wa some of the best hummus I've had.The chicken shawarma was pretty standard (a tad bit dry). The BBQ pulled beef was my favorite by far. The beef was very soft and moist, with a strong BBQ taste which worked well with the rice and hummus. The Moroccan fish was next yup, where the sauce was tangy and flavorful, and the salmon wa extremely moist and soft. The bread that came with it though, was a bit too sweet and didn't feel like it paired too well with the sauce, nor with the hummus. It wa fluffy and good, but didn't work as well as a pita would in this scenario, in my opinion. The drink was also quite interesting, with lots of different flavors and a little bit of spice on the aftertaste.Overall the food was very good, and somewhere I would go if I was looking for quality food, but not as often as the price to amount of food is a bit steep compared to other Mediterranean food in the city. It was filling still though, for what was included.

Got the falafel pita and the vishuka hummus bowl. Very flavorful and authentic Mediterranean fare. Tastiest falafels I've had in forever!

Absolutely amazing food! The hammous was absolute perfection. The whole experience was nice, a completely different vibe. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu. I had the chicken shawarma with rice, hammous and salad and it was so damn good!

Vish is our first choice in comfort food places, and we enjoy sitting on the patio" when it's sunny. The Turkish Coffee is a bit inconsistent each time but enjoyable with the All Day Brunch meal. We always order additional pita with our meal so we can finish up all the little dishes.Although the wait time can be a bit long

Seriously delicious. Comfort food, perfected. So fresh and flavourful.They were out of chicken, and subbed meatballs. I’m so glad they did. The pulled beef was also amazing.And of course the hummus. Not your typical supermarket variety. Think of peanut butter that tastes like chickpeas and tahina and olive olive.Just make sure to order pita. It doesn’t come with the meals.

This adorable Mediterranean restaurant is located in downtown Edmonton. Owned by the hospitable Zvika & Karin Eshe, this restaurant brings a fresh and nutritious option to the Edmonton food scene!I tried the following dishes:Happy All Day Brunch which includes: the Classic Shakshuka, Hummus, Tahini, Babaganush, Hot peppers, and Challah bread;Falafel Pita Pocket;BBQ Pulled Beef Plate which includes: Majadra rice, Chopped salad, and Hummus!My favourites were without a doubt were the Shakshuka with the Challah, and the BBQ Beef! Both were just oozing with flavour and had me planning my next visit!To wash it all down, Zvika offered us some Turkish coffee and it was lovely. In terms of taste, it’s not too bitter like most black coffee, but has a gentle floral note to it.I also ordered their Omega and Memory VISH Plant-based Shakes to go. At roughly $12 per shake, you might be wondering what is so special— or at least I was!These shakes are super rich and packed super foods, like Tahini. The shakes are very thick, so think of them more like a meal replacement!One thing I really loved about VISH is the freshness and quality of their ingredients. Across all their dishes, it is clear that is a priority and just takes their food up a notch.If you’re plant-based, in the mood for a taste of the Mediterranean/Middle East, or even just want a healthy meal, I cannot recommend VISH enough!Thank you to Zvika & Karin for being such lovely hosts, and having me at your restaurant!

We tried the falafel plate and falafel sandvish both were good just the rice on the falafel plate wasn’t fresh and tasted lil off… the sanwich is a lil pricey considering the portion size.The omega shake was good. And i would recommend trying it.

I had an amazing experience The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were huge - all at a reasonable price. The décor was lovely and the seating was very comfortable. I ordered the chicken sandwich and was blown away by how fresh and flavorful it was - not to mention, it was enormous! I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a fresh meal and great atmosphere

I recently had the misfortune of dining at Vish in Edmonton, and I must say, it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, the negative aspects of this establishment became painfully apparent.First and foremost, the service was abysmal. The server seemed disinterested throughout the entire meal. Not once did they greet us with a smile or show any enthusiasm for their job. It felt like an inconvenience for them to take our orders, or answer any of our questions. It's extremely disheartening when a server fails to provide even the most basic level of customer service.The second letdown was the quality of the food. I had high hopes for the restaurant, but unfortunately, it fell far short of my expectations. The flavors were bland, and the dishes lacked the vibrant and authentic taste that one would expect, leaving me questioning the restaurant's commitment to delivering a true Mediterranean experience. It's disheartening to pay for a meal that fails to live up to its promises.To make matters worse, one of the glasses in which water was served had a distinct and off-putting smell of eggs. This was incredibly off-putting, and we had to change it not once, but twice. It's baffling how a restaurant could overlook such a basic hygiene issue, let alone subject their customers to it. It speaks volumes about their lack of attention to detail and overall cleanliness.In addition to these major shortcomings, the overall atmosphere of Vish was lackluster. The ambiance was a bit dull and uninviting. It seemed as though minimal effort had been put into creating an enjoyable dining experience. The lack of attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the poorly lit interior to the tables left uncleaned for a long time.Considering the disappointing service, subpar food quality, and the presence of glasses with a foul odor, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Vish. There are far better dining options in Edmonton that prioritize customer satisfaction and deliver on their promises. Save yourself the disappointment and seek out an alternative establishment that truly embodies the essence of Mediterranean cuisine and offers a pleasant dining experience.
