Justen came recommended to me by two separate Navy coworkers/friends of mine who didn't know each other, but were long-time friends of his. I took that as a favourable omen, and the fact that he was ex-Navy provided familiarity and made me feel at ease with the decision to have him manage the sale of my property. On our first meeting at my house he came already prepared to discuss the then-current market (July 2022) which was changing rapidly. True to his military training, he spoke at the same knowledge level as his audience, giving more detail when asked, but not overburdening the discussion with too many fact and figures. Justen provided excellent advice during those initial sessions and wasn't afraid to reveal the true face of market pricing in my neighbourhood at that time. While other agents might have 'kowtowed' to their client's preconceived notions about pricing and an insistence on 'higher is better', Justen was down-to-earth and clearly explained how the market was changing by showing examples of how over-priced properties from other agents became stale and languished for months, their owners ultimately 'chasing the market' with successive price reductions. Justen was clearly dedicated to presenting my house in its best light. He made spot-on recommendations about repairs, decluttering, furniture arrangement and painting, leaving the decision to me as to whether I should action or not. And to support those efforts, he made great handyman and painter recommendations, those individuals being very professional as well. The day photos were taken was a whirlwind of activity, but Justen came prepared in his 'work clothes', and he and a couple associates helped us move furniture and declutter, while a professional photographer took excellent pictures of every room. Even after the sale and my family had moved out, Justen stopped by to check on the house and did a bit of cleanup when he discovered that the movers had left a substantial mess. I know that Justen doesn't work 24 hours a day, but it certainly seemed like it. On call most of the time, he always responded quickly to my e-mails or texts and he assisted me with all aspects of my sale. Justen was a pleasure to work with and I would certainly recommend him to any of my friends/coworkers in the Victoria area.
