My daughter started piano lessons with Emyr the owner of Summit Music almost 3 years ago. I then began lessons myself with him 1 year ago.Emyr is an exceptional teacher, he is calm, patient and teaches each individual with a level of intelligence that I have not witnessed in any of my daughter's previous piano teachers. He installs, trust, pride and a great sense of achievement during every lesson. Whether the lesson is in person or via Skype he is always professional and a joy to learn with.I would recommend Summit Music to anyone who has a child that wishes to take up Piano or an adult that decides to learn later in life.

Emyr has been my daughter’s piano teacher for the past 5 years. He is such an amazing skillful teacher. And recently my daughter started learning guitar with him too. His talent, knowledge and patience are the ways of his ongoing support for my little one’s love of music.

Emyr is a terrifically talented and patient teacher who has inspired my daughter to gravitate to the piano every spare moment she has. He is playful yet stern with technique, theory, tempo and dynamics. I enjoy his teaching so much that I signed myself up for lessons too!

My two sons have been taking piano lessons for the past four years with a couple of teachers who were highly recommended and respected. They just weren’t enjoying piano or progressing very well. When we found Mr. Honeybun about one year ago things changed. Mr. Honeybun is a very kind and patient teacher who is passionate about music and knowledgeable about teaching. He understood how my two boys learn music differently and was able to teach them based on their individual learning style and needs. They have made tremendous progress within a very short time. He instilled a sense of confidence in their playing style and more importantly the love and appreciation of music. I would highly recommend him.

Emyr was my piano teacher for a year and a half when I decided to take up the piano again after playing for a short while as a child. I have thoroughly enjoyed lessons with him: he is patient, encouraging and thorough. Emyr is a truly wonderful piano teacher for our son. Patient, supportive, reliable and motivating. Did an incredible job preparing our son for his piano exam this year, built confidence and skills. As a result, the exam was a success and a positive experience all around. Our son's piano skills have grown significantly under Emyr's teaching, and his love for piano and music has grown. After trying other piano teachers previously, Emyr stands out and we can't recommend him highly enough.

When I made the midlife decision to learn piano I contacted Summit Music, best decision ever. I've been a beginner, adult student with Emyr for just over a year. I started with no piano experience and now I can read sheet music and play songs with independent hand movement!Emyr has a great attitude, he's encouraging and patient. I have always enjoyed learning and so I really appreciate his depth of knowledge and practical experience. He tailors the sessions to my musical interests with pieces that are both challenging and enjoyable to learn and play.He is easy to get hold of and has been flexible with scheduling which works well with my other commitments. At the beginning of Grade 12 my son decided he wished to compose a novel piece of music for piano for his Capstone project. By that point he had enjoyed listening to a wide variety of non-piano-based music but he had essentially no formal musical training and no exposure to the piano. We were very fortunate to find Emyr, who knew just how to approach helping him reach the very challenging goal he had set himself. When my son performed the song he had composed and gave his presentation on what he had learned about music theory and composition under Emyr's tutelage he achieved an A+. His experiences with Emyr as a teacher also inspired him to continue to train with Emyr after his Capstone project was completed. As parents we were, and are, very happy with Emyr's approach to teaching and presence in our home.

Emyr Honeybun is an amazing piano teacher who is highly skilled at instructing and inspiring his students to play the piano. He is very committed to his students and will go above and beyond what most teachers will do from his passion for music and teaching. We’ve had a handful of teachers and he is by far the best at his ability to engage and motivate my children!Thanks so much for your dedication and support for my sons! He is the best piano teacher for us!
