Will try to make you think they are *required* to check your gas bill to ensure Fortis isn't raising your rates, like they're doing you a favour. They do not identify themselves as gas resellers, but that's what they are. Remember, no one will ever sell you anything at a loss.

I had the same experience as other reviewers. Extremely fast-talking agent came to the door saying she had to see our Fortis statement to make sure they (Summit) were on it with price controls. My alarm bells were going off and I asked why, if they work with Fortis as she suggested, they wouldn't just ask Fortis. I could not understand what was going on. I will contact the Consumer Protection Agency in Victoria and I urge others to do the same so the government takes action against such deceptive sales/marketing.

Do not sign on the line. I lost so much money with these guys. They are like time share mexicans that push u very hard to sign. I was loosing so much money every month I decided to pay 500.00 bucks to kill the contract. I wish I never signed.

One of the rep knocked the door and my wife answered while I am busy. The rep was extremely pushy and wanted to force my wife to sign a document which my wife refused and ask him to leave. I can't believe there are so many such scam exists and allowed to operate (I encountered another one for selling furnace). Remember, no one will ever going to resell natural gas to household at lower cost.

Corey from Summitt Energy came to my door on Oct 18, 2019. He pre-filled out an application form for me, demanded to see my gas bill and answered my questions as if I was inconveniencing his 'routine neighbourhood inspection.' He refused to give me any ID or company information and declined allowing me to read the application he wanted me to sign.The way he phrased his answers sounded like he was an employee of the gas company I contract with and he was talking to me as if I should have been expecting him. When I refused to give him anything he walked off my property swearing loudly.Trying to sell me a product is fine; misrepresenting who you are so that I will give in to your requests is deceitful and legally problematic.I'm telling everyone I know about my awful interaction with Summitt Energy.

They managed to convince my aunte to sign for a gas price 3 times more than Fortis. I wish I was home to stop this scam. They are taking advantage of older people with limited English and getting them to sign by promising savings on gas bill. Stay away!

Showed up at my door saying he was from the gas company and needed to check my Fortis bill. I asked why and he said the gas usage in the area was wrong and that he needed the bill to confirm it. I told him he wasn’t getting anything from me - and I asked who he was from again and he said the gas company. I asked for identification and he showed me a flyer from Summit. He was trying to misrepresent who he was, and was trying to scam me into giving my bill to him so he could switch my service over to Summit!Reported to the police!

I wish I could give zero stars to this company. Beware - this is a SCAM! Somebody came to our new townhouse door on a holiday Friday in the evening. They try to get you to sign a contract without even telling you that it's a contract. They try to sell you fixed" gas prices at more than double the current rate. They misrepresent higher gasoline prices as the same as your natural gas in your home. So insane! The sales person also took my iPhone from my hand and made it seem like he worked for Fortis. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING ... and if you do

Door was knocked by a company named summit energy yesterday claiming to be working with fortis bc and how they can save you money ? guy was pushy , I I pulled up their company on google on the spot in front of him and they have 37 plus 1/5 stars saying scam . I told him can you explain this ? he was rattled and stunned and left. Thieves and scammers. Report them ASAP.

Knocked on the door saying he works for Fortis BC asking who's responsible for the fake bill of $288. Turned out to be Summitt Energy trying to have us sign some contracts. Feel threatened the way he talks, act like a debt collector. Do not let them in to your house, contact Fortis BC they said they will never solicit door to door. Scammers trying to trick your that they works for Fortis BC, but what they really do is have you sign up contacts. Don't sign anything right away, do your research online first.
