Northern Shades

Early this spring I had my patio covered by a full roof. It was after construction that I realized it would be even more practical to have it partially screened. I went to Northern Shades and met Fernando, who showed me around their showroom and all their products. I showed him pictures of my project and he came up with some ideas I never thought possible. It was decided that the best way to address all my concerns was to send “Mark” to my home for a consultation. Mark, (the owner) arrived at my home within a couple of days. Within 30 minutes Mark pointed out how his product could screen the entire porch. He took some exact measurements and the screens were ordered. Within the next 4 to 5 weeks the screens were installed by very professional installers. From the day I walked into the showroom to the final installation I could not be happier. I should point out that shades are not only the product they offer. I'll be back for the outdoor pizza oven. Great job by all. Ken

I shopped around at a few different places, but Fernando at Northern Shades blew anyone else I talked to out of the water. He helped me select blinds that really suited my place, and followed through during the install to make sure everything met his standards. He had to tweak a few things which meant re-ordering some components and multiple trips, which is a lot of work.Great attention to detail, eye for design and follow through.

We just moved into a house with no window coverings and a very large bay window in our bonus room with a half orange window on top. Tyson was amazing at planning what would keep the direct heat out of the bonus room to keep ac costs down. As well he installed a shelf to hang the blinds from as our window didn’t have one. The team was so professional and had fantastic communication with me. They gave me quite a few options and an awesome amount of colours to choose from. Would definitely recommend this company and I will definitely be reaching out again.

Fernando went above and beyond to show us all of our options. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I will most definitely refer anybody looking for blinds!!

I rarely write reviews but Northern Shades deserves praise as we had an excellent experience. We were looking to replace our window blinds and met Fernando. We thought we needed one type of blind but instead of just writing up an order, Fernando made sure he understood our specific needs re insulation, function, and decor. He patiently explained and compared the different blinds and suggested solar shades which we are so appreciative of. He understood what we NEEDED more than we did and we are so pleased with the outcome. He is very knowledgeable of all the different features of all they sell and another bonus….they’re Canadian made. A big well-done, Fernando and Northern Shades! 100% recommended.

When I first called, Brenda came to my home with an abundance of selections. Brenda is professional, knowledgeable and understood my vision. Brenda and Fernando installed my blinds and drapes to a precision. Great quality. Had a issue with one of the blinds, ordered the part and installed under a week. Fabulous!Mary Holobeck

Our awning was installed perfectly by Northern Shades. The sales & the install team did a fantastic job making sure all of our needs were met. (And we can be admittedly difficult to deal with). Do your self a favour and at least visit their fantastic showroom before making your outdoor living purchase.

Had the Pergolino retractable shades installed recently over our deck. Very nice quality product. Should make the deck so much more functional throughout the summer and fall season. Service provided by Northern Shades during the ordering and installation process was smooth and stress free.

I am thrilled with the new blind in my kitchen and honeycomb shades on four living room windows. Brenda helped me to decide on the coverings, they arrived quickly, and the installation is excellent. Without hesitation I recommend Northern Shades to others.
