Took a trip from Toronto to Montreal, experienced both Economy and Business class. Amazing service and friendly staff, Business class seats are comfortable and clean, great hospitality on board, served with hot n cold beverages as soon as the train departed, bagels offered for breakfast followed by lunch, even alcohol was offered.

*Update* Was told by customer service to call ahead of booking to ensure I get the train with the older comfy red seats. Tried to do that today. For almost 10 days after the initial trip I want to book. All trains leaving at 5:30am have the hard leather seats. How is this fair. How is it justified to give no other option. Am I supposed to stand for the entire 8hr trip? Should I boycott VIA and never take the train again? I’m just curious as to what lifetime riders have to do to see actual positive changes. Telling us that the new fleet will be here next year is not a feasible response and more of a slap in the face. How the hell does that help my lower back now?**New seats for economy are absolutely uncomfortable. Guess we have to pay almost 3x as much to have seats with suitable cushioning for long distance journeys? What a joke of a company.Had the older seats on a previous trip and the comfort level comparison is night and day. Bring back the old red seats on all economy cars.

This company they have nothing but greed and trying to take advantage of people think people are simple and stupid , the problem is that there is no competing company.It’s so ironic they always said “After all, without our passengers, we're just a train.”Yes , without us they will be RUSTY train , it’s already way outdated.

Toronto to MTL.4 hour delayed. No complimentary snacks. Hard and not reclinable seats. The cabin lights are bright in your face and Wifi doesn’t event work.I would recommend taking Bus.I would have saved money and time.

We went on Via Rail from Toronto to Jasper recently.Because this was a once in a life time trip we booked the Premier cabins.When we arrived at the rail station in Toronto we were a little bit lost. Some better signage would have been helpful. We were 'helped' by a perfectly lovely lady who is the epitome of the adage 'people want to help and will tell you something even if they don't know the answer.'. Good thing we didn't listen to her. Better signage would have helped us.However once we checked in, we were helped every step of the way. We had access to a very nice private lounge with only a few people in it. The gentleman helping us turned out to be the one who stayed with us on the train all the way to Winnipeg.Every bit of service was first class. When we had a problem with toilets on the train, we were quickly moved to a different room. The beds were large and each night we had turn down service where they pulled our bed down from the wall and left us chocolates on the pillow.I would totally suggest this form of travel to anyone who wanted to explore Canada. Every employee we met was helpful, even those who didn't know we were Premier customers.The train was clean and kept clean. The employees were friendly and kind and helpful at all times.

Friendly and polite security officers. Construction causing disruptions in flow of traffic but security ensures a smooth process

Worst website. Very difficult to find customer service that has the power to actually help you. They're all lovely, don't get me wrong, but if Via won't give them the power to fix tickets etc, then what's the point. Why, after changing a ticket, do I have to go pick up a paper ticket from a station. Most of them aren't even staffed. It's truly inconvenient and absurd in this day and age.

I love via rail! The staff are always friendly, kind, knowledgeable and very understanding. I prefer to travel business class and it is SO worth it! We spoke with a viarail rep at the Union Station ticket office named Kim- she was absolutely amazing. The trains are always clean and comfortable. Even when there are delays in the train schedule, the staff are very accommodating.There was one staff member who was guiding the passengers up the escalator to board the train who was very rude and would not let my friend or I bled claiming “they weren’t ready for business class to board” so she let the long long line of economy passengers walk by, then allowed us up the escalator for no apparent reason. When we got to cart 1, we were the last business class passengers to board and everyone was already seated and ready to go. I’m not sure why she had such attitude but I was not impressed.

Catastrophic journey to niagara falls. 2h delay, bad communication, no wifi on train. At the counter they charge 20 CAD handling fee for a ticket, I bought back and forth and ended up paying 40 CAD!!! What is this? I feel 1 star is even generous. Never again.

The train is great and comfortable, even though it’s more expensive than but 100% worth it.I recently took a train from Montreal to Toronto and overall, I was very impressed with the service. The train was clean, comfortable and on time, making for a smooth and enjoyable ride. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was plenty of room for luggage. I appreciated the scenic views along the way and the opportunity to relax and avoid the hassle of driving. I would definitely recommend this train company for anyone looking for a convenient and enjoyable way to travel between Montreal and Toronto.
