We ordered #46, #57 and #12 take out today and these are what we got.For #46, What a joke! There was NO pork chop, NO shredded pork! NO Egg!Both of the two pieces of meat were overcooked dried chicken. For #57, the beef rib was over cooked too and tasted as hard as a board. When we ordered, we didn’t like vermicelli, so we changed it into rice. We thought 烧烤牛仔骨、排米粉 means Grilled beef rib and steak. Well it turned out 排米粉means a special steamed vermicelli…so after we changed vermicelli into rice it had nothing different with #54 but we still paid $1 more. For #12, I think this was the only one normal today. What a disappointment! We paid $50.75, waited half an hour there, what we got was a bad surprise. They used to add shredded pork to most of their dishes even when it was not written on the menu, this time they took a lot of things out even when they were written on the menu. We will never go there again.

Size of beef noodle is pretty big. The taste is just fine. Soup is a bit weak. Beef is better than beef ball.

I ordered #11, noodle with raw beef, tendon and tripe. The quality of beef is not good, it was chewy. The tripe was not fully cooked, it was rubbery. The pork chop with rice #44 tastes bad. The rice was watery, the shredded pork smells bad and tastes equally bad. The shrimp/beef roll is bland, peanut sauce was more like thick brown sauce with bits of peanuts. The only good things we found nice here were the server and the chandelier.

Wow!!! The shrimp, pork, and bean sprout filled Vietnamese Crepe is amazing! It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and huge! Great portions and fresh food. Also has all the usual Pho place staples. The egg yolk condensed milk soda was delicious too and tasted like you were drinking white rabbit candy.

Food tastes great and generous serving. Restaurant was busy so obviously, regulars always come back for more.I was just surprised because of the name Thai Son". I thought it was a "Thai" restaurant but it was Vietnamese :)"

We love coming here or getting takeout! Pho quality is great, Lemon grass chicken on rice is good! I would prefer if the lemon grass chicken with grilled a little bit more, but it’s still great! Not many of the Vietnamese restaurants include shredded pork with the Lemon grass chicken on rice. Just to let you guys know this place is cash only. The grilled beef short ribs are good but not the best. I’m still giving this place five stars because it’s consistent, fast, inexpensive, and delicious!

Thai Son in Richmond has a long history of being a popular place for Vietnamese food. It is primarily authentic food, with little in the way of adaptation to other cultures. That's a good thing in my mind. The restaurant was busy, very busy. Every table was in use and there was a line of people waiting for a table. I wish they would take names; but the staff seem content to let the line manage its' self. It does seem to work, as we were quickly seated.Service is very fast paced. There seems to be no time for pleasantries. Our order was taken and food delivered, that's about it. Wait staff did not return to check on us and you just approach the cash register when you want to pay. Be aware: this restaurant only accepts cash. The place was not perfectly clean. As busy as it was, how could it be clean? Our table was well wiped though, and we had no problems with dirty dishes or cutlery. The food was delicious. We had porkchops and shredded pork skin on broken rice with a sunny side up egg. I also had the pork salad rolls. Everything was so tasty and well done. It's nice to find a restaurant without cutting corners by plating this dish using long grain rice. Broken rice has a distinct texture that is needed in this dish. My only concern was post-meal swelling. Too much salt? Perhaps. Or were they using MSG? In any case, those who are sensitive may want to use caution.I can say I loved my meal, and the shortcomings are minor. Well worth a visit when in Richmond.

Food here is unfortunately middling. Salad wraps? Rather tasteless. Rice dish with porkchop and chicken? Dry. Meatballs in the pho? Overcooked. Overall? It's fine, but I'd rather spend my stomach space on something else if I were you.
