I chose Sonar Acoustique because of the Google reviews they had and the price, which is substantially lower than their competitors’.Service request:At the beginning, response time was realistic. I spoke with someone who said they’ve dealt with issues similar to mine. I offered to send him recordings of the noise I was hearing, but he said they’d be able to just take the measurements on site. Once I signed and submitted the quote, I didn’t hear from anyone for 17 days before I received my appointment.The appointment:The technician who came over was professional and asked me a few questions about the noise. He spent time trying to capture the noise and we talked about the effect it was having on my quality of life. He was very understanding; when he left he told me honestly that the noise he did manage to capture didn’t exceed city limits, but that he would discuss next steps with his boss.The report:16 days passed before I received any type of response. I called them back and his boss told me the noise didn’t exceed any levels, asked me what I wanted to do, and asked if I still wanted the report. What happened over the last three weeks if they weren’t working on the report? How should I know how to proceed next?Two more weeks passed. I left voicemail on October 23 (no response), November 3 (no response) and finally got through to someone on November 5 asking about what caused the delay and have not been responded to. I received the report on November 5th a few hours after my call. The report was 5 pages long. It appears that their services only includes taking the measurements, then writing them in a report. No solutions or recommendations on how I could live harmoniously with the noise were provided. Maybe that service is only offered for noise that surpasses city laws; the price, however, wasn't any lower.Overall:My experience overall was underwhelming and awkward. Anytime I reiterated my needs, they didn’t seem to be accounted for (I needed a report to have proof at sale or lease that the noise is acceptable). If I challenged them, I was met with silence. If I asked what they suggested I should do, they asked me what I wanted to do. I hired them for their expertise and instead, I was met with passive answers or was asked to make decisions I felt were outside of my understanding.I regret my choice and wonder about the legitimacy of the Google reviews because my experience was SO different. It was the low cost option, but for me, it was also the wrong decision. I don’t know what caused all these delays; no one bothered to inform me, so it’s hard to know if a 1-month wait for a report is normal. The final product just feels like the bare minimum to me.
