Cute little cafe in the heart of Nanaimo. We came here from because of the endorsement from the Food Network. There were some things we liked and others we didn't. If you're in Nanaimo you should probably get yourself a Nanaimo Bar. That said I thought their drinks were better than the food which to me was too bad. Nothing bad to say about this place, it just didn't particularly stand out the way I hoped it would.

This cafe is famous for their Nanaimo bars, displaying their various awards received for the various Nanaimo bars on offer. They have regular Nanaimo bars as well as peanut butter and salted caramel ones.I tried the peanut butter and salted caramel ones and they were good. The peanut butter one had a mild flavour of peanut butter, with the chocolate flavour being more prominent; and the salted caramel being similarly mild with the salted caramel flavour except the bites with the prominent salt on top. Overall, if you're into Nanaimo bars then they've got you covered.I also tried their coffee, specifically the cappuccino. Unfortunately this was nothing to write home about, not having great body and being pretty average.In the middle of a weekday, this place had plenty of seats available both inside and out.

Great little cafe in the Old Quarter shopping district of Nanaimo. I learned of this place because of their amazing award winning Nanaimo Bar. Since then I like the in house made baking and healthy meal options.Today was a huge apple muffin with big chunks of fresh apple as well as a homemade jalapeño cheese bagel. Both tasted great and enjoyed them.I notice a lot of vegan options so if you’re looking for that this would be a good place to consider.

One of the best Nainaimo bar locations. Has many flavours. Evenly matched base to custard to ganache. Had the peanut Nainaimo bar which tasted like a Reese peanut butter cup! Also had a strawberry Nainaimo bar which was not a strong flavour of strawberry. Long flakes of coconut, chunks of walnuts in the base. Overall, the peanut butter Nainaimo bar is a must try. Cafe was small, has inside and patio seating around the shops around the cafe. Also got the rice krispies square, biggest rice krispies I've ever seen commercially made, hand for reference. Definitely a repeat visit when in Nainaimo. Really rated at 4.5 because of the Nainaimo bar varieties.

Lovely atmosphere, delicious coffee, incredible treats!! Definitely going back to try every single Nanaimo Bar they have there as they all sounded tasty!! I had an original Nanaimo Bar and a Nanaimo Bar Latte and I loved both immensely!! Highly recommended and will definitely be returning!!

Completely unable to recommend or concoct a gluten free breakfast option. I gave up and ordered coffee instead only to see they list GF bagels on their menu, which the server did not mention. Thankfully the nanaimo bars ARE gluten free and delicious.

If you're in Nanaimo, you should have a Nanaimo bar. And Bocca has them in lots of flavours, all gluten-free, some vegan. All in my party reported their selection as yummy!

Whenever we are travelling I always look for places to eat or have coffee that are above average.Bocca Cafe was rated high when doing a google search when looking for the best Nanaimo bars in Nanaimo and so we went and we’re not disappointed.We ordered the salted, peanut and regular Nanaimo bars to share with friends and they were all delish.Would recommend.
