Fisherman’s Plaice
Great place for some fish and chips. The fries are really good and cooked nicely. Fish is great with a good ratio of batter to fish. Their homemade tartar sauce is delicious and their coleslaw is fantastic.

At 4 pm on a Thursday in May, the place was empty. By 5 pm, there was 1 table available. It's obviously a popular spot. This isn't a glamorous restaurant, but the food is good and fresh. The service is fast and efficient. They charge $1.95 for a glass of water. The menu had some really unusual items like haggis. How often do you see that on a menu?

Don't let the modest decor dissuade you; this place is all about the food. Quality ingredients across the board, with most everything on the menu made in-house. From the haddock to the onion rings, you can't go wrong. Next time, I'm having the haggis. Which gets its ingredients from a local Scottish butcher!Give this place a chance. Established 40 years ago, and I have no question how it's still here.In a word: Delicious!

I was looking for a new fish and chips in the area to hopefully make my go to. At a first glance, the restaurant is small but cute with an 80's vibe to the decor. Nothing fancy or over the top, but rather homey feeling. Then you order and get to the food...most of it is sourced from quality locations, such as the haddock from Nova Scotia and the steak pies from a local bakery, the black pudding and Haggis from a Scottish butcher--and it definitely shows in the taste! The portions are *very* generous. I was stuffed to the brim after just the fish and a few chips! The chips are made in house, like just about everything else here. Fresh Ontario farm-grown potatoes, and if ordering poutine, the curds are ordered from Quebec! The meal was absolutely delicious, but the service was equally as excellent. The chef came out to ask if we were new and talked to us about how the restaurant has been around for 40 years--and it's very easy to see why!--as well as about the food and where it is sourced from and made. I can't rate higher than a 5/5 stars, or I would. 100% recommend coming here if you get the chance.

We tried this place as a family friend said it was delicious and they weren't kidding. The food was so good. We ordered steak and mushroom pies, haddock, halibut nuggets, clam chowder, crab Cakes, onion rings, mushy peas and chips. everything was eaten and enjoyed. possibly one of the best clam chowder I've ever had. Definitely recommend this restaurant and we'll be back for sure

We’ve been coming here for about a year or so, and it’s by far one of the BEST places to go to for REAL fish and chips. Very generous portions, quality fish and the staff are so kind. Always helpful, lots of phone orders so sometimes it’s rushed but they are busy. Hands down the best fish and chips place in Mississauga. For those belly aching about the cost and things going up- have you seen what seafood costs these days let alone everyday food. Give them a try, they are very nice and it’s a mom and pop type of place, so I will always support local. Oh- their clam chowder is out of this world, a hidden gem.

It's really not much fun posting a negative review for a restaurant that is clearly stuggling, which is obvious from the dated decor, stacks of goods piled up on corner seats and overall tired ambience. The family running it is trying very hard to keep a brave face but even if one ignores the extraneous factors, the food was not palatable at all. The batter on the fish and onion rings was too greasy and thick, we felt as if we were gulping oil!To top it all, their pricing is not clear. A combo meal is rigid, no substitutions, although they readily agreed to it, but I was charged extra later! We wish them all the best, hope they can get their act together.

Pretty good fish and chips area close to Erin mills area. The chips, tartar sauce and coleslaw are perfect. The haddock is pretty good but not the best I've had. The cod fish is okay. Too much batter for the amount of meat. Doesn't matter, I prefer haddock anyways!

Unassuming place with old decor but the food really hits the spot. I have been coming here off and on now for 5 years and it’s always delicious because they don’t try to do to much. Hands down my go to fish and chips place for mississauga.
