Richard Secord Elementary School

A fairly good elementary school - most of the teachers were nice and I learned a lot. Overall, I had decent elementary years here - they have regular, French Immersion, and Cogito.The school itself isn't too tiny. There are a lot of kids which could be both an advantage and a disadvantage, but the hallways aren't too crowded, though the boot racks sometimes are.Some of the teachers are overly strict and sometimes mean, like the librarian, but many were really kind and also funny, like Mrs Cooper and Mr London. However, some of the students are incredibly annoying and will try to make your life miserable. There is sometimes bullying, but usually the teachers will resolve that.I'd recommend this elementary school if you want your child to have a good learning experience while also making lots of friends, since there are hundreds of students - around 650 if I remember correctly.Sorry for the insanely long review but anyways bye-

All my three daughters attend this school. 2 have graduated grade 6 from here. One was in cogito and the other in french immersion. No other school has these many programs in them. The principal is one of the nicest I've met. And the teachers make the kids feel we loved and taught. There's many activities present in the school year. One of the Edmonton's best schools. The kids that have graduated from here have had a strong base and have succeeded much.

dont get me wrong i has a fairly decent expirience here but honestly it wasnt the best schoolfirst of all there was straight up mean teachers like mrs ross and mrs bradley and ms pickering who left last year, teachers dont do anything about bullying and fighting and i really dont like the lunch ladies, they are so lazy and just stand in a classroom or outside and they hate when someone is having fun.the principal isnt the best she is kind sometimes but mostly she is a bit rude, she hates when someone sticks up for themselves like when someone hits you so u hit them back? but the principal does not like that and will suspend both students, the new assistant principal mr goos is really nice but the old one mrs teague was really rude especially to younger kids, the boot rooms were really crowded, the school was overpopulated and most div 2 students wanted to make your life miserable.the school is nice if you have friends and is smart but if you are struggling with work most teachers wont really help you at all.sorry for the very long review btw

I felt my child's kindergarten teacher is a little rude with the way she communicates with children. Maybe she is just strict, maybe she is all paranoid with this covid thing or maybe this is how cogito teachers are suppose to be but I definitely sense some arrogance in her. Ideally I like teachers to be a role model for children with the way they present themselves in the classroom as well as outside the classroom. I hope other teachers are better in this school.

Very nice school, every teacher works hard in teaching there class. Every child is loved and the teachers teach in the best way possible, all they want is the best for their students. The best teacher there would be Mrs Karen Cooper and Mrs Fiona Dempster, but all teachers are very nice. The teachers are more like friends. The students who come here are very nice and there are never any serious bullying as for the Golden Rule ( treat others the way you want to be treated). The principle is the nicest and she works very hard for each and every student.

Teachers are great and so are the staff. We love Richard Secord!

it's a school that is fun only if you have friends, if not then its like you are an outcast. but still great teachers even tho they don't ccare if a child gets bullied i can actually understand what they are teaching

Very nice school, definetly recommend the best teacher are mr d.london, ms. a.choudary, and mrs k.cooper. The principal is also very kind and the programs are cogito, french immersion, and regular!

Most of the teachers were horrible. Marzolf and all the vice principals were very rude and had trouble finding solutions to problems. These were the 2009-2016 years, I don't know, maybe things have changed. The best teacher there was Mrs. Fiona Dempster. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST WOMAN IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
