Sentimental Farm

Went to a bread making class, and learned many techniques for making bread. Rob and Chris are both very knowledgeable and welcoming. We made 2 different types of bread, and sampled a third. Not only did I go home with lots of knowledge, but also a full stomach, another loaf of fresh bread and some sourdough starter.

Excellent hands-on workshop on bread-making, held in their home kitchen. I feel I got more than my money's worth, taking home a loaf of warm bread, some ready-to-use sourdough starter, recipes, and a wealth of practical knowledge ... not to mention a belly full of delicious fresh-made bread. Rob and Chris are extremely knowledgeable, passionate and helpful. I expect I will be signing up for other homesteading workshops in the future. Well done!

We spent a beautiful spring Sunday at Sentimental Farm, learning how to build raised flower beds. Rob and Christine are so full of knowledge and are only too happy to share it with those who take their classes. We can't wait to learn more!

I attended the bread making class hosted by Rob, and what a treat it was literally (yummy wood fired loaf) and figuratively. Not only did he show us every step of the bread making process, he made sure we all get to work with the dough and join in the fun. I left the farm with a new found appreciation of the homesteading movement that Chris and Rob are so enthusiastic about. Thanks both for sharing your experience.

I took the intro to preserving class with Rob and Chris and it was amazing. I grew up in my nana's kitchen and spent many summers canning. I have since dabbled on my own, but this class grew my confidence and answered so many questions I had and didn't know I had! Can't wait to take the next class and the next one.

I recently attended back-to-back workshops on Backyard Gardening and Building a Raised Garden Bed. Rob and Chris are passionate about the non-GMO movement, and stellar gardeners and teachers. The raised garden bed class was hands-on and probably the best three hours I've spent in a long time. I was able to build one in my own yard yesterday following the notes I was given and the pics I took (and some emails with Rob who is very generous with his time and advice). It was a success, and this is the first thing I've ever assembled from scratch. I would highly recommend any of the classes they offer. I can't wait to sign up for their preserving classes in a few months!

I went there for a bread making class and it was great fun. Rob had many interesting things to share and I learned a lot about healthy cooking. They have many healthy products, all natural and it was very informative. A great way to spend the afternoon.

Met Rob and Chris signed up the raised bed workshop months ago at Toronto Botanical Garden months ago. The session is hands on and we got lots of tip and know more on where to pay attention on building a raised bed which will last over a decade. Class size is small and we enjoy the group setting so we all share our knowledge and experience. The yard is very neat and everything is well organized and placed. Definitely will visit again and take another class. It's very beautiful in Grimsby, nice people and easy to drive from Toronto.

We just got a new home and we’re looking to start a garden. We decided to go to their introductory to gardening class. We realized we have no idea what we were doing. They were super great at answering everyone’s questions and then some. We feel very comfortable and excited about our new organic vegetable garden and know if we have any questions that they will give us more tips and tricks. Super passionate about what they do and it makes it so much more fun to learn!

My husband and I went to the Backyard Farming class this weekend and it was even better than we hoped for! What a wonderful, knowledgeable couple, we had only dabbled a bit in growing vegetables the past 2 years and honestly we were daunted by the whole process, but we learned more in those few hours than anything we had found on the internet over a 2 year period. If you know nothing or think you know everything, I guarantee you will learn something or in our case, everything and anything! A great relaxed, warm, and welcoming atmosphere, created by two great people who make you feel at home.
