Jonathan, you are the man! My AC went out and he made it out in less than 24 hours later, not to mention he even came during his after hours. Very professional, friendly, well educated, and very thorough. Was able to pin-point the problem and fix it quick! Thanks again! Highly recommend.

Johnathan was able to come out to our house the same day when our AC unit started freezing over. He was very honest and worked quickly to get us some relief from this 90-degree weather! Very reliable and prompt service, highly recommend! He explained everything that he was doing and possible causes of the issue and discussed options and cost before performing any services. As a woman, it’s hard to find a company that won’t take advantage of me, but John was very trustworthy!

He was extremely professional and made sure he did not interrupt a house-member working from home. Jonathan stayed in constant communication with me via text, calls, and pics and video. He fully explained everything for the work and the cost. He was SPOT ON! Not only did he fix the problem, but he also performed a little preventive maintenance checks and services...PMCS". I had Barkus out to my house two weeks ago and it was a negative experience. Price was not clear before coming out for service, and before the owner tries to defend this statement saying I agreed to the price - it was only because I ASKED him what the estimate would be before he left to the store to go buy the part. The price WAS NOT clearly communicated to me or freely offered by owner.I work several jobs, one of which is $14.00 in a seafood department at a local grocery. Barkus charged me $256 for a 45 minute service call to change a blown fuse, and the owner added a cleaning. I'm glad I can work more than 19 hours at my second job to pay for your 45 minute service call to my house.After Barkus left my house, I wrote a FB post expressing my disappointment. The owner then drove BACK to my house to voice his displeasure. I'm a teacher, and was on a virtual meeting with students. When I opened my front door, my students could clearly hear the owner making accusations about myself (from his point of view of what had transpired, and not even entirely true) and what I posted. I wish I had my phone out and had recorded this - I would have posted it here. I had to ask the owner Jon to calm down, went to my computer to mute the mic, told him I'd take into account his perspective, and he left. I did edit my FB post, but now several weeks later I am still very miffed by the entire experience.If the owner would like to speak regarding this post, please feel free to email me. Do not drive back to my house.**Notice that the owner's response below. Notice that the owner avoided commenting on all of the events from this negative experience. How about the company apologize and own what happened. I didn't even comment about how you took the fuse box from my AC unit without asking or telling me. I could have had another company fix the issue and still saved money after paying the $80 service charge for you coming out, but they couldn't work on the unit because you had taken the part.

Barkus Heating and Cooling installed the entire HVAC system in our newly built home. We could not have asked for a better contractor. They explained everything from start to finish and their work was very clean and on time. Even the local inspectors were impressed! I would recommend these guys over any of the big local companies. I found I got way better personal service. These guys will be our contractor from now on. Thank you!

Barkus has been helping us with the HVAC services for our major home renovation. Step one was replacing the hot water heater, which went great - no issues, the guys were super friendly, and the new water heater looks and works great. Step two has been replacing the furnace/AC unit. I naively was under the impression that this was a “take the old one out, drop the new one in” project. Not only did Jonathan and Dominic custom build us a BEAUTIFUL new unit, but they fixed all the old parts the unit connects into that were done poorly by previous contractors. Barkus takes the time to do things right, even if it may take more time. Aside from the good aesthetics and the functionality of their work, the highest compliment I can give to Barkus is the way they have treated us as a customer. They have been so kind and helpful, and explained things to us. Great communication. I can’t say enough good things about them. I HIGHLY recommend Barkus.
