Came here for the first time and we were impressed with how great the service was! We ordered the grilled salmon and steak frites our food was absolutely delicious!! I would highly recommend and will definitely come back :)

I had a great experience at this restaurant our server was super kind and made the night very enjoyable! the food was great and the overall atmosphere of the place was wonderful! My boyfriend and I got the tiger prawns to start and then the lamb shank. The lamb was cooked perfectly and was super tasty. I’ll definitely be returning.

Disappointing would be the common theme here. Restaurant decor and room looked great seemed full of potential. Waiter explained it was their first day open after Covid. A bit surprising but none the less we were excited. Bad first impression, table was a disaster with dirty linens. Ordered one of the mussel dishes, seemed to be. House specialty, with a full page on menu dedicated to Mussels. Unfortunately not fresh at all, by the smell alone this was evident and they were dry and uneatable. Fries that came with Mussels were undercooked likely from not being blanched. We both had the lamb shank and it too was disappointing it came in a plate drowning in couscous and little to no flavour. Overall can’t recommend, service was average and food quality was unacceptable

I came here a while ago and was so disappointed with everything here. First of all, we were the only table in the restaurant and we had to wait 45 mins for the foods??!! I thought that oh maybe they make everything from scratch, fresh right on the spot so I was expected to taste something good. That expectation was destroyed after I tasted the onion soup (soup du jour), the taste was just average and very sour. After that, we had to wait a bit more for our 2nd dish which was Bouillabaisse (CATCH OF THE DAY with some other seafood), this was when the nightmare came. When the server just brought the food out, I already smelt something odd, but I ignored. Then after tasting the mussels/scallops, it felt like frozen foods, THE FISH WAS STINKY AND SMELT SO BAD. I was for sure that the fish was put in the frozen for a long time for that smell and taste, NO CATCH OF THE DAY at all!!!I reported to the server right away and the restaurant offered me another dish, do you think I'm willing to wait another 45mins for another stale food? I just wanted to leave. The manager or the owner sitting there and did nothing, no discount, no apology, NOTHING. Only the poor server came and said sorry with such a low tone that I barely could hear when I paid (I was even nice enough to pay full price, which I should not tbh).I came here because I saw good reviews on google and was so disappointed. I've never be this upset and mad" on any restaurants like this before. Will NEVER recommend this place for such an unprofessional service and low quality food."

The restaurant had a simple but decent menu. The ambience was quite nice. The food was okay. The service was quite disorganized, they said they reopened very recently. It was not too bad, if they had been what they looked like: a family-style, unpretentious restaurant.Instead, they offer a Dine Out Vancouver menu with the highest price possible, as if they were a Michelin-star restaurant. The overall experience did not live up to that standard: I was disappointed with my visit and would not recommend this place.

I adore this place for a date night. It's a cozy spot on vibrant Commercial Drive. Tonight the folks and I celebrated early Mother's day and my father's birthday.I suggest to make a reservation as it is a small restaurant and fills up quickly. Catherage Cafe serves up a wonderful mix of French & Tunisian fare, Wine, Cocktails, Beer and non alcoholic beverages such as espresso and tea.The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The chef and their team clearly love what they do as the food is so good!I really wish I had saved room for dessert as the table next to us had this amazing looking strawberry tart...next time!Pictured: The Beef Medallions Special, The Lamb Chops, and Trio of Seafood. Each plate priced $30 or less.

Great dinner with friends here. Very large salad portions, great mussels, Amazing lamb chops! If strong but flavourful coffee is your thing, be sure to have some Tunisian coffee after dinner!

We knew Carthage from before its temporary closure and were delighted to see it reopen. Adore the decor, windows, tiles!! First day for the waitress; fair enough. Won’t comment. However, the lamb couscous presentation was poor, looked dried on the plate around the edges. None of those divine lamb juices in the ccous or on the plate. The spinach salad was billed with Gorgonzola but the cheese was low salt chèvre perhaps, and the salad was drowned in over sweet balsamic reduction. The pecans were soggy with it, no crunch. Overall cloying effect. The mussels were fresh and perfectly steamed, but the dominance of thyme in the Provençal broth gave the whole thing an “off” flavour. The bread was pedestrian, better baguettes at Safeway!!. Finally there seemed to be 1 or 2 cat hairs stuck to the table cloths. I think we’ll give it one more chance, as restaurants have had a difficult time of it with COVID, but for a 75$ meal/ person, we expected better. The wine and Negroni were quite perfect but those are difficult to screw up.

Terrible terrible stay away from that place nothing French Tunisian. The french waiter was very nice but the food is disgusting. The owner doesn't know nothing about french food or Tunisian. I order a salad nicoise I end up with a mix of green with balsamic dressing. The rest of food was a fusion of her interpretation which means eat at own risk.. please be careful pictures are deceiving.
