Mission Health Care Auxiliary -The Cottage

Im shocked at the level of service i recieved today,the 2 volunteer staff members were very rude and i had a hard time not giving them the same treatment back,i come here all the time and buy clothing for homeless in mission and after this i think i will shop in abbotsford,please stop volunteering and go do something more suited to your personality.

On 3 separate occasions, I’ve been treated extremely rudely by the staff and have left purchases at the counter due to the awful attitudes from the volunteers.Customers should not be made to leave your store in tears due to comments from your staff.I highly recommend extra training to staff on how to treat customers. You will lose business if this doesn’t change. I will not be purchasing or going to your store again, nor will I recommend it.Extremely hurt & disappointed.

Today was our first visit since the renovation. The store is twice it's previous size! The furniture section was quite large and nicely displayed. The store was quite organized and clean. We will be back!

Always find little treasures for awesome prices :) I see some people saying some of their stuff should just be tossed but you never know sometimes people only need things for a little while or are going to use the item in a completely unintended creative way. Everything can be reused. All the proceeds go back to our community and is 100 % run by volunteers sometimes yes their a bit kerfuffled but have patience you never ever ever get ripped off here.

Love this store. The volunteer staff are so nice, and they keep the place very tidy. The prices are excellent compared with other, larger thrift stores in town. I got all the kitchen stuff for my RV here for $30, and it is high quality stuff.

Horrid, racist employees. I’m so disgusted by my experience here. I stood in front of one woman for five minutes while she ignored me and helped every white customer around her. I said excuse me multiple times. I even asked if her till was open, she ignored me and kept speaking to everybody else. Another employee tried hard to hide her behaviour, kept joking around and sidetracking. I asked her if the cashier was ignoring me and she said “don’t worry she does it to me, too.” This is an absolute lie, by the way. It eventually became clear to me that she wasn’t going to help me, so I dumped the dress at the counter. I told her she was a racist then left. There’s no way I’m spending my money at a place that won’t serve me because of my race. What a shame that some still operate as though it is the 1950s. I’d love to get the place shut down, but I’m wary only because I know it supports the hospital. I guess some people just can’t help but be absolutely revolting. If you’re a person of colour, save your money. Spend it somewhere you’ll actually be treated with basic respect.

Such a quaint little place, full of sweet retired ladies (the odd ornery one giving you the stink eye, if you dont have a debit card..which I don't, and have to use cash which has more covid susceptibility) but otherwise worth a little visit. Remember to bring your own bag too. Otherwise you have to buy one..a cloth one.

I purchased an item from this shop a few weeks ago. It was a battery-operated desk-top fountain with rocks, a light, and a water pump.In addition to the price, the tag said Works."As it was battery-operated

The staff are volunteers and they are all so nice and helpful. This is where I go to find play clothes for my son. Now that they have expanded, the Cottage also has a good selection of furniture. I always bring my donations here as well, because I know that the profits and my donations are going back to the community. :)
