Stephen Lewis Secondary School

Stephen Lewis Secondary School is one of the most progressive schools in the Peel region. A big part of what makes this school so good is the staff’s commitment to accommodating our mental health. If I am ever going through a tough time, I can count on the staff to support me through these difficulties. As a neurodivergent student who suffers from anxiety this is a big positive for me.

To be honest and frank, the teachers here are fine, and there are a few genuinely passionate ones that do a great job but the administration has consistently done a terrible job creating a positive school environment. The school is dirty (not a fault of the custodians, they are very hardworking, the kids just don’t know any better but to trash the place up, especially the bathrooms), there is very little trust between the student body and admins as well as hardly any ways for student ideas to be heard. The actual student body itself has consistently contributed to the terrible environment, and there’s lots of racism and homophobia. The school is limited in academic options, no AP classes or honors (which john fraser nearby offers), lower end extracurriculars, performs poorly in most sports, and has terrible budgeting. However, the 9-3 timing is fantastic as well as the 1 hour lunch. Other schools need to adapt that policy, sleep is essential for students and this timing allows for optimal sleep.

It was a good experience and I enjoyed my 4 years at the school, it was anti-oppressive and a very social environment. Teachers were really helpful and you can see they really care. Truly a gem of Mississauga.

I had an amazing experience at Stephen Lewis Sacodary School. The faculty and staff are dedicated and knowledgeable, providing a supportive and challenging learning environment. The curriculum is well-rounded and prepares students for success in both their academic and personal lives. I especially appreciated the extra-curricular activities and opportunities for student involvement. I highly recommend this school to anyone seeking a top-notch educational experience.

I attend Stephen Lewis Secondary School, and I have to admit that I have had a wonderful time thus far. In all facets of student life, the school strongly emphasises anti-oppression and inclusion.The teachers genuinely care about the success of their students and are informed and compassionate. They go above and above to create a warm atmosphere where each student feels respected and at home.The commitment to anti-oppression and inclusivity is truly unmatched and the teachers and environment make it a great place to learn and grow.

It's a very welcoming environment. Guidance actually help and support student's mental health. You can find a lot of different cultures and ethnicities that you'll never feel different or left out. i really do recommend this school you'll difinetly make a lot of friends, have fun and enjoy your high school experience.

Stephen Lewis has been a very positive and welcoming community for students. it has been a Community, which is very comforting, and welcoming. It is a very well behaved and organized community which helps students develop mentally and emotionally. They offer tons of clubs, which helps students adapt and grow in the community and make them better as students and people.

I an a parent who send both my daughter and son to Stephen Lewis Secondary school. One of my children is in Grade 12 and the other has just come to the school for grade 9. Both tremendously enjoy their time at the school and love the extra help they get from teachers and all the fun clubs and teams they have been apart of. During a time of uncertainty in the world, Stephen Lewis created an outlet for my children to get social connections and network to other people.

I honestly really like this school because it is very multicultural and welcoming. I would never have went to any other school. I made lots of new friends here that I am grateful for. Everyone is very nice here. I enjoy my classes and I'm comfortable with the teachers. The physical education department is the best by offering many extracurricular activities, especially in a time of crisis. Stephen Lewis really helped me stay connected during the pandemic
