Alquinn Homes

Alquinn homes came highly recommended to us by our realtor. We were moving from from BC to AB at the time and had the opportunity to build our new home in Spruce Grove. Overall, we are happy with the quality of their work and their customer service has been good! As a lot of our new home planning was done via email/zoom/phone calls, we faced many miscommunications and bumps in the road along they way-which was very frustrating- but Shannon and John and their team made every effort to correct any mistakes. We would use Alquinn to build another home for us in the future as their work and the finishes are much better quality compared to other builders in the area. Next time, we hope for better communication, but are very happy with our beautiful new home!

We contacted Shannon at Alquinn homes in early January/2022. We met with Shannon and she asked us what we were looking for in a house . After a discussion Shannon showed us a house that was just being built . IT WAS PERFECT. We did not use a realtor, Shannon and my mortgage broker worked together to get everything in place .The attention to detail is outstanding. Every time I had to contact Shannon , she got back to me in a timely manner .I would highly recommend Alquinn homes.

Hailey at Alquinn Homes is a GEM!!! This young lady upon our first meeting, a week ago was magnificent!!! She truly listened to what I am looking for in my search for a home. Hailey had researched, compiled plans, pricing & was honest with her responses. Hailey is charmingly wholesome & a true delight to converse with. She's not phony or pushy. Very respectful when speaking about her co-workers & owners of the company. Keep up the amazing work Hailey & don't ever change!!!!

2023 Update: After seeing my Google review Shannon reached out to me to correct the issue. It's unfortunate no one gave her the message that I had called about this issue many months prior, but I appreciate that she did follow up regardless. I was reimbursed the cost of fixing the bathroom issues and although it can't undo the disappointment and inconvenience of having to rip put our bathroom, I can say even nearly 3 years after we moved into our house Alquinn was willing to correct an issue that the home warranty refused to address. She also helped me with addressing another issue with the home that was a result of a mistake Weiss-Johnson made after we moved in. Thank you Shannon for being willing to work with me on this. Alquinn is a family owned business and I have a strong feeling a larger home building company would not be so responsive.Original review: After just over 2 years we've had to completely gut our main floor half bathroom because water was leaking up through the tiles. Turns out NONE of the toilets in our home were installed properly, as shown to us by a plumber. The toilets have all been leaking for the entire time we've lived here, but unfortunately for us it took just over 2 years for enough water to accumulate under the tiles and for it to seep through the grout. Surprise, surprise, not covered by warranty because it's only a 2 year warranty for plumbing. Do yourself a favor and find a builder who employs trades people who know what they're doing. Now I have to replace a 2 year old bathroom on my own dime. I guess it's only a matter of time until we find out what other installation issues are around our house...although I suppose they'll all be revealed just after our warranty runs out.

Our review of Alquinn Homes comes after one year of ownership. We took possession of our new Alquinn home November 25, 2019.Our walk through took place and we walked through each level of our new house level by level, small window frame joint cracks were noted, along with other minor problems. We were asked to trial all windows for opening and closing, we noted that the windows were extremely dirty and were told by the Alquinn representative that window cleaning wasn't part of the package" and cleaning was on the owner. Our walk through included explanation of the homes mechanical systems. A walk around the exterior of the home was done

Alquinn Homes are a horrible home builder. Once we signed over our deposit we were completely forgotten about. We had a lot of quality control issues and had a variety of issues with our home during the build and even after. Zero flexibility and the worst customer service I have ever experienced anywhere. They are a complete joke. I don’t regret much in life, but building with Alquinn was something I deeply wish I hadn’t. I urge anyone looking into building a home with them to get references and talk to real people who have bought/built a home with them. Don’t say you weren’t warned after reading this review. I pretty sure the owner is one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. Don’t let his mild manner fool you, he will completely undercut you any chance he can get. His kid is a construction manager, who is too young to have any build experience, but nepotism runs strong with that company. His sales pitch when we moved in was here is the contact info for home warranty, after today don’t contact me, call them with any issues moving forward. Talk about believing the in your product. What a disaster this company is. Buyer beware, you have been warned!!!

We purchased the showhome a couple months back and extremely happy! The quality of workmanship and value shows throughout our home. I would definitely recommend Alquinn homes to my friends and family.

Two beautiful new homes were built be Alquinn and are only 7 years old or less. HUGE PROBLEM the roof venting is inadequate for the one duplex. Seems to be a common problem with Alquinn, which they know is a problem, but is not covering any mold or moisture issues caused by poor venting. They are not going back to customers and inspecting this issue before the warrentee is up. They do not care. Neither does their insurance company they deal with.If you buy a home by Alquinn make sure you check your attic for MOLD, annually. Hopefully you are still in the 5 year warrentee. boundary.

This review comes 3 years after our move in date, house settling, warranty repairs and a true test of quality.No house is constructed without flaws, however I can honestly say that after 3 years in this custom built home, the issues we encountered throughout the years were so minor ie nail pops, trim separation. These are natural occurrences as the house settles. Truly impressed those were the only issues after 3 years and nothing major. Our warranty repairs were completed in a timely and responsive manner.They care about their clients and I would definitely recommend Alquinn Homes.
