Beautiful shady location. You can paddle up the canal and out to Charles lake in 30 minutes, so you can easily keep it under an hour which makes the $10/hour for a single kayak totally worth it. Super helpful & accommodating staff.

Amazing spot. Paddling through the river under the trees is so mesmerizing. And then you get on the broad lake. Single kayak 15 $, double and canoo 20 $ per hour, only cash.

Drove out from Halifax to grab two kayaks. Arrived around 1640 to rent for an hour just to be told that they are closing early with no further explanation. Do not go by the 1800 closing time....clearly not true. Thanks for the great first impression Kaynoe Rentals.

I've rented from here a few times and it's a lovely spot to kayak/canoe. I'd recommend calling ahead and booking your rental(s) as they do have limited stock. It's $15/hour, cash only.

Concept is wonderful, but...they make their own hours! My husband and I went down to rent kayaks and when we got there at 2pm they said they weren’t renting anymore today because they were slow. Very disappointed because we called in advance at 1:30 and were told they were open til 5pm that evening. It Wouldn’t have been so bad except it’s not the first time heading down to the park only to find out there not open.

Voicemail said open every day 10-6pm. Showed up on a beautiful sunny wednesday and here they are closed and apparently haven't been open all week. $20 cab ride each way and my day ruined.Very unprofessional. Change your damn voicemail.

Theres no better Kayak rental around. Don't listen to the 1 star reviews. Just call ahead and book your appointment and everything will be fine. Best nature and scenery out of all kayak rental places. It's cheap too! ... Definitely reccomend

As many have said that this is a great spot to get acquainted with a kayak, paddle board or canoe. They have it all. The location is perfect too because Shubje is a great park for this. We rented individual kayaks which were well maintained, and comfy for the hour we were on the water. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.The only downside, it got crowded when there was a large group of people waiting by the table to get their orders(kayaks, paddle boards etc)It was hard for them to manage the people waiting, and the people returning from their time on the water. They need more space so the path around their office isn’t crowded for park goers and their customers, just a thought.

Great place to kayak and very affordable. Try to avoid going during peak times because the canal itself gets extremely jammed and paddling becomes difficult from the amount of people around you. Staff was friendly and helpful.Be prepared for a lot of wind and waves from some bigger boats. If you're a new paddler or have children, the waves these can might be a bit difficult so just keep that in mind. There is the set of rocks by the beach, once you pass that - that is when the waves and wind kick in, so if you want to avoid more waves, try not pass that since it acts as a good buffer. Opening up into the main lake is really nice.

So great to be able to get out for a canoe without having to own one. We do this at least once a year. So relaxing and such a nice place to paddle
