If I could give ten stars I would! We came up by water taxi with Bruce for eight days of paddling and were absolutely enchanted. Bruce was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - he gave us invaluable advice on route planning and things to see in the region. The setting of Paddlers Inn is magical.Bruce's obvious deep connection to this stunningly rugged, wild and beautiful area was an inspiration to our family and we felt lucky to be immersed in this wilderness, even if only for a short time. We're already dreaming of a return trip...!

Paddlers Inn is a perfect spot to set up for day trips into the Broughton Archipelago. Rooms/cabins are cozy, clean, well stocked with essentials. Surrounding trails are well maintained. Responsible recycling and waste management practices are evident. You choose if you want totally self-guided or assisted. Everything is just as advertised. We look forward to returning

Paddler's Inn is in a spectacular location and host Bruce McMorran has things set up right for the paddler, or really anyone looking for a few days of off-grid living in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Cabins are cozy, clean, and well appointed with good cookware and nice bedding (very comfortable bed). The cabin we stayed in even had its own wood-fired sauna which was such a pleasure to get into after a cold ocean swim. Just the water taxi ride to/from the Inn gave us unparalleled chances at whale and porpoise viewing - but we also chartered a boat ride to one of the neighbouring islands with a lot of history - which was well worth it (both in terms of wildlife and island viewing and to hear more of Bruce's stories and information about the area). This is a special place, one I highly recommend.

Paddlers Inn is in a spectacular location. My family and I stayed in Shoreline cabin from which we saw orcas, a humpback whale, the local seal, bald headed eagles and more. You are completely in the wilderness but have the comfort of a cosy cabin with comfy beds, a hot shower and a well equipped kitchen. We stayed for five days spending one kayaking (it really is a paddlers’ paradise), another on a tour to see Grizzly bears and another walking on the island behind the inn. Bruce is a great host and really knowledgeable about the local wildlife and cultures. Thanks Bruce!

Paddlers Inn and the Broughton Archipelago are an amazing combination. We stayed in the Shoreline cabin. It was clean, spacious, well equipped and had the most beautiful views from the deck. We saw orcas, seals, eagles and assorted birds. The kayaking was spectacular - easy routes for beginners or longer more challenging routes for experienced individuals. Bruce was knowledgeable, flexible and helpful. His marking (signage) of the forest trails was excellent - it was an added bonus to be able to hike to the lake and Eagles Bluff. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a kayaking vacation with a hot shower and comfortable bed at the end of the day.

Could not have been more pleased with our 7-night visit to Paddler’s Inn! Our Cliffside Cabin on floats was small, rustic yet very comfortable with excellent beds, a well-appointed kitchen with all you need to cook, bake, or bbq, great views, and a wonderful wrap-around deck space right on the water. With most of the facility built on historic floats, Paddlers Inn is about as authentic an experience as you can get, giving you a real sense of the rugged environment of the Broughton Archipelago and an opportunity to experience a bit of what local life was, and is still like for many local ‘mainlanders’. There is no wifi here, no electricity on the floats, and cell service is sketchy and slow, and it was great to just put the phones mostly away for a while except for taking photos!Opportunities for paddle exploration are many and varied, from short mostly sheltered local tours to full-day adventures. The touring scenery is stunning, wildlife abounds and we saw Orca and Humpback whales, black bears, seals, sea lions and sea otters, bald eagles, great blue heron and more - not just once but multiple times. More than just a commercial lodge, Paddler’s Inn is a lifestyle and a passion for owner, manager, boat driver, and guide Bruce McMorran. The atmosphere around the Inn is relaxed and indeed we spent a lot of time just kicking back and relaxing either on our little private deck or around the fire table under the shared guest canopy trading stories and getting to know the other guests. Was it great? Well, we were sitting around only halfway through our stay already scheming about making a booking for next summer so yes, it was a great place. If an authentic, rustic, rugged, and yet relaxed adventure is on your mind, put Paddler’s Inn on your list!

The location is 5 stars already but the extras create an unforgettable experience. The shoreline cabin was super clean, well-equipped and offered amazing views. Every question we asked before and during our visit was answered promptly and accurately. Our rental kayak was clean and fully set up for safe and comfortable use. It even came with a brief but very helpful lesson on basics. The island sites are well marked making the trails an enjoyable bonus to the time on the water. The communal lounge with shade, comfy seats and a fire table made it easy to connect with the other visitors.Highly recommend.

Paddlers Inn is a beautiful property. We loved Bruces efforts in maintaining this property eco-friendly. The Cabins were very well equiped with everything we needed for cooking, including very sharp knives, garlic press, scissors, everything you needed to cook a nice meal. The shower was really nice and hot. But the best of all was the silence of the place. From our Cabin we saw on two occasions a transient group of Orca whales and on our last day we saw a humpback whale. We also rented 4 of his kayaks and we paddled for a whole day and the nature around it is simply beautiful. The sunset from our Cabin was also spectacular. Thank you Bruce, we hope to be able to come back again one day!

We had an amazing time with Bruce at Paddlers' Inn. The boat trip out and back to Port McNeill was a great way to experience the Broughton Archipelago, as was the kayak hire from the Inn. Our floathouse (Cliffside Cabin) was beautiful and comfortable and it was an wonderful opportunity to commune with the natural environment with a friendly and knowledgeable host. Thank you so much Bruce!
