Holiday Inn Express & Suites Victoria - Colwood, an IHG Hotel

I recommend this hotel and would give it a 4-star rating. All the receptionists were delightful and made our stay pleasant. The mountain view from our room was stunning, and we had stable and reliable internet connection.The room was clean, and the bathroom was spotless. We had an ample supply of towels, and the toiletries, including DOVE hand soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner, smelled amazing and felt luxurious on the skin. The towels were crisp white, the king-sized bed was extremely comfortable with smooth and fresh sheets, and the air conditioning provided a soothing atmosphere. The pillows were just the right balance of thickness and softness, offering a perfect night's sleep. Additionally, the hotel is pet-friendly, and our dog had a great time during our stay, enjoying walks in the friendly neighborhood.The hotel is situated in a fantastic location with a nice and welcoming neighborhood. We had enjoyable walks in the area and discovered a new business, Furniture Hideaway, located next to the animal clinic. Furniture Hideaway offers high-quality beds, mattresses, and couches, and the owner of the business was friendly and provided honest product reviews. It was impressive to learn that the company started as an online store and has now expanded to have its own physical store. We had the opportunity to explore their products and were impressed with the quality of their bedding and staging. The checkout process at the hotel was also hassle-free.In conclusion, I would give this hotel a 4-star rating out of 5. The only downside was the wait for the elevator, as there seemed to be only one servicing all five floors. Additionally, there were a few writings and marks on the walls in the elevator and waiting area. The breakfast buffet was decent, although not extraordinary, but it provided enough to satisfy our hunger. I didn't personally check out the pool area, but I heard it was clean and of a good size.Furthermore, I would like to commend the receptionist Andrej who was on duty on June 3 around 10 pm. My wife observed his patience and politeness while dealing with an unreasonable and rude guest. I also noticed the kitchen staff handling the same difficult lady with grace and professionalism. It's unfortunate to witness such behavior, and we feel sorry for her husband, as he appeared embarrassed by his wife's conduct.Considering the price we paid, I believe the cost per room was fair and justified.

We had an excellent experience at this hotel. The property was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, making it an ideal choice for families. The front desk team was particularly noteworthy - they provided outstanding service and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Whenever we come to Victoria, this is our go-to lodging option. Highly recommended!

By far the worst HOLIDAY INN we’ve stayed in. We already tried HOLIDAY INN in Osaka(Japan), Manila ( Philippines), Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver and we were happy with the service we got.Holiday Inn Victoria has poor hygiene. I have to ask twice to change our new sheets due to number of hairs on fresh sheets. We were transferred to new room, yet same scenario. The new sheets have strand of hairs all over. Yikes! Laundry personnel and housekeeping should be trained well by the management.The breakfast is awful. They keep on repeating the sausage that tastes like cardboard I think. Holiday INN within Canada that we’ve been to have varieties every single morning. I hope they take in positive light and improve.

One of the worst holiday inn express we had ever stayed in .No benefits given to Platinum Elite members. I stated in the arrival preferences that we would like to check in early, but despite that, when we arrived at 2pm, we were told that our room was not ready, had to wait a full 1 hour!There was no room upgrade. When we requested for a late checkout, we were told the latest is 12 noon, although Platinum Elite members can check out at 2pm. They just give the excuse that it was a Memorial day weekend - there were big groups and coaches loads of kids from USA. Couldn't they take care of their preferred customer as a prority?The room was dirty , and there was no housekeeping service unless requested.Only 1 slow dirty elevator which was frequently wet.On the day of checkout, the housekeeping staff bump into our room even before we have checked out, total discommunications between front desk and housekeeping!Buffet breakfast was one of the worst among all HIE we ever stayed in. Only extremely salty pork sausage were served every morning, despite advertising that bacon and turkey sausage will be available.All in all, pretty disappointing stay.! Not worth paying CAD350+ per night, at member's price? Totally a rip off!

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I like the added security of a room key being required to use the elevator. The breakfast choices were excellent, with something for everyone. If I go to Victoria, BC again, I'd gladly stay here.
