KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

First they cancelled all my flights without contacting me, then when they rebooked my flights and I was about to board the flight, I am being told that I am not on the passenger list and that KLM didn't transfer the passenger from the cancelled flight to the new flight. So my luggage for checked in and went to the original destination while I wasn't allowed to board the same flight my bag was on and the person on the front desk had to call KLM to straighten it out because when I called the hotline I got hung up on twice.

This return flight to Bali was an OK experience pretty popular and full but you do arrive into Bali in the evening by 8p thereabouts and by the time you get out of the airport, traffic & get to check in at your hotel it's probably close to 10.30 or something. But the return flight back to Spore is also late so you still get a full day there. Comfortable in terms of seating and leg room and good inflight entertainment.

Awful experience. They lost my bags for a week due to their own fault and they won’t offer any compensation. Awful flight as well. Do not fly with them!

Great service on the flight. But if they cancel your flight and you actually need to speak to someone about changes/compensation - good luck. They don’t care about customer service, will just book you on a flight and not worry for the time/money you are out of due to their cancellations. But looking at previous reviews, it’s a consistent theme with this company. Exact same complaint over and over from many different people. Don’t recommend booking flights with this company.

Make sure you read the fine print. When it says you can cancel your ticket and get a refund, don’t believe them

TL;DR: If you think you might make/ have to make any changes or cancellations to your flight/trip avoid this airline at all costs.KLM does not have the service or customer care one would hope for at a bare minimum. If you have questions or issues you will not get service directed to you and your specific problem, but an answer that might fit from a predetermined list (very impersonal). They avoid telling you anything one way or another so that they might back out. Their website has a horrible design which seems made to confuse and trick you out of additional money. I had to change my return flight and did not realize until after I paid for the new flight that the extra option I paid for (an extra bag) for my original flight was now not offered. While this was probably stated somewhere on the website as I rebooked, it was definitely not made obvious. Instead of immediately refunding me for this option which they could not now offer, you have to jump through the hoops and request a refund. This is what they suggested to do in the confirmation email they sent me.I went through the process of requesting a refund which they now have refused. So, in addition to paying the $300 change fee and difference in flight cost, I have now spent almost $100 (one way) for a bag that I will not be able to bring.(Their website does state (verbatim) 3. Back in July I booked a flight from Calgary to Amsterdam. Looking forward to finally visiting my mom after a few years of Covid made travel difficult.Yesterday, two weeks before departure, KLM notified me they had cancelled my flight.Unfortunately I can't travel/rebook until next spring and have applied for a refund. There are countless reviews online from people waiting months to get their $ back, or not at all.What is SHAMEFUL is that my supposedly cancelled flight is STILL scheduled to fly! I can book it right now and even pay for the same extra-legroom seat! Of course the fare is now $1300 MORE than I paid for my ticket back in July!I have flown 'home' with KLM since 1981 and never experienced such questionable practices.What do you say, KLM?

I travel internationally a lot for business, always with Emirates. This is my first time with KLM from Heathrow- Amsterdam to Cape Town. My goodness what a disappointment! The boarding was a joke, food is terrible if and when you get it, I feel the aircraft is understaffed and the air hostesses are not very hospitable, possible just the Dutch culture. Definitely will stick with Emirates in future.
