Awful gym, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE the manager clearly has no brain cells and needs to be fired. Sometimes i see like 5 people just standing out front talking to each other. Gross hot tub, steam room been broken for months sauna doesnt work and they cant even be bothered to put a little lubricant on their machines to make the sests easier to raise.

- Group classes are great and I am loving the variety- Gym is always clean and there are disinfectant wipes all over the gym you can use- Staff seem friendly and approachable- Café is great! Shakes aren't cheap, but they're delicious and convenient. It's also nice to have the option to buy a coffee, tea or light snackMy wishlist:- Group classes between 7-9am during the week (right now it's only 615am or 9am)- Kickboxing group classes with bag rounds- Larger cycle studio since some classes fill so quickly- Automatic tracking on the Movati App of the classes you attend- Updated equipment, especially in the women's only section

Nothing overly special about this gym. It’s a place to lift and leave.MAIN flaw in my opinion is the water from the refill stations. It genuinely tastes like chlorine. Absolutely awful! I’ve brought the issue up twice, and finally got an answer that it’s just “Guelph water”. Gives me the impression, and tastes, like no filter system in the water. So with the money gym-goers pay, they can’t afford or bother to filter the water properly. I’ve been told by others that it actually makes them feel sick.No room for mobility or functional fitness type exercise, I.e: turf area or open space for open workouts.Pricing isn’t exactly the cheapest, but is comparable to other similar style gyms I guess.

Emma has to be the best yoga instructor in the club, her classes are energizing and fun. I've been going for the past few months and it has had a huge impact on my overall well being. Her quality of teaching is outstanding and she allows me to feel more confident and mindful in my practice. If you have the chance, stop by her class!

Amazing gym that I was able to use for free for staying at the Delta across the way. Its clean and has friendly staff. So many cardio and weight machines. Part of the gym is female only if that is what you prefer. I was unable to use all of the amenities such as the pool, sauna and showers. This gym also offers group classes, but unfortunately I was unable to try as time didn't allow it.I recommend this gym over the gym inside the Delta hotel.

The management here is the worst I’ve ever had the displeasure to witness. General staff really do seem to show up willing to work and engage but without actual direction so it constantly seems to fall on members to point out basic things…1) bathroom stall in the ladies washroom being a gross mess2) that there’s only one wipe station in the entire women’s section with disinfectant wipes loaded3) locker areas that have more hair than floor not being swept out4) faulty equipment that takes an eternity to fixThen if there are accessibility concerns like scent issues in a change room? Good luck! They won’t even post a courtesy signs asking ppl to be mindful. Never mind that it’s actually triggering real world consequences and genuinely if you have any sensitivities with perfumes DO NOT SIGN UP. It’s a 50/50 chance the amount of perfume in the change room will be so obscene that it will still be as intense after your workout as it was going in as there doesn’t seem to be enough air flow back there for it to dissipate even after an hr of being out in the actual gym. These are all incredibly “bare minimum” things that I’ve never had to deal with within a gym before at the unprecedented levels they are present within Guelph Movati. The end of the day I had hoped the experience (at least with management & staff) would be comparable to Waterloo Movati. It’s not even close. You’re just paying premium rates for subpar service. There’s absolutely no reason this gym couldn’t be better even with the equipment issues. Management needs to learn how to actually problem solve and be proactive. Engage and find the problems that are actually impacting the guests coming through their doors and creating a sustainably welcoming environment.*All their women’s equipment is extremely outdated. They paid money to have it all re-covered, like spit shining a turd… Only now more of the machines are utter garbage from being taken apart and put back together poorly. It’s bad. The fact that if management was to prove more competent this would be more of an annoyance vs “I’m going to wait out my contract and go elsewhere” kind of issue should tell you how bad the management actually is.

I switched to Movati over a year ago after leaving another gym in Guelph. I decided to pay slightly more for more services and amenities. Unfortunately I have found Movati does not prioritize the needs of its members equally.Several things have been bothering me for a while about Movati (particularly the smell of burnt broccoli that can often be smelled throughout the gym) but what led me to write this review is the blatant neglect of the women’s only area.It has always bothered me that there is only ONE squat rack in the women’s section but over 10 treadmills. I almost always have to superset with someone or wait a while to have a turn on the squat rack because there is high demand for it.The reason I’m writing this review is because it appears the women’s only area has become a storage space for broken and dysfunctional equipment (photos attached). The women’s weight area is already small and crowded, there is now completely unusable equipment strewn about the area. Not only is it annoying, I find it disrespectful. I regularly use the co-Ed section but prefer to do glute exercises in the women’s section. I’ve never seen broken equipment stored in the co-Ed area despite it being a much larger space. In conclusion, I hope they add more squat racks to the women’s section, move all the broken equipment out of the way, and identify the source of the burnt broccoli smell.

Good customer service is really important to me. And my first and last impression of Movati was not in its favour. Zero customer service here.Somehow they double booked my time-slot for a tour. But then on top of that they were 15 mins late to my tour… The girls at the front desk are not welcoming or helpful. They sound and look annoyed if you have a question. All they do is talk to each other. Craig was friendly enough, but he’s obviously only thinking about his commission. This gym does not allow early terminations of contracts and it costs the member $75 for a transfer. That’s ridiculous. I have never heard of such a high enrolment fee of $99 plus a $29 facility fee. I asked Craig what the enrolment fee was for, and he just said it was for the facilities. Then what is covered under the facility fee? There was a deal on for an enrolment fee of $20 instead of $99 and I said I’d like to think this over first and maybe just get my membership online. Craig said he didn’t think the $20 was offered online. Either he did not even know, which doesn’t look good, or, he lied and was trying to get his commission so I’d get my membership there in person.I would never go here in a million years. You couldn’t pay me to come here. I’ve read a lot of other reviews echoing that there is zero customer service at this location. Wish I could give this place zero stars instead of one.

Not the luxury gym" i was expecting for the steep price. Its just another gym... The weirdest thing to me is the change room arrangement. iv been to many gyms over the years and all seem to follow the same idea of a bench in the middle of the "U" shape locker sections. this way you can face the lockers when seated and not face out into the changeroom.. its a privacy and comfort tool. Plus this way gym bags aren't taking up all the seating area when changing. honestly its such a simple fix

Overall, I am happy with Movati. The equipment seems to be maintained fairly regularly with on site maintenance. There is a circuit of cleaners all day long, which makes me feel much more comfortable working out in a gym. The only complaint I have is that the women's section has limited equipment and not as new equipment as the co-ed section.
