Scarborough Gym-Elites Club

I first started out at Scarborough Gym Elites as a recreational gymnast, then moved up through the competitive program and participated in that for 6 years before retiring and becoming a recreational coach.I've spent more than a decade of my life in this gym, and it really has become a second home to me. My coaches pushed me to become better than I thought I could ever be, and I have made so many friends along the way that I know I'll cherish forever. A bond that a gymnast aquires with their teammates is one that doesn't break easily. Throughout my many years at Scarborough, I learned so many life lessons that I know I'll be able to transfer directly into my future.Speaking as a recreational coach here at Scarborough, the programs we run here are rich and very educational, helping the young gymnasts to have fun, learn something new and constantly stay active. These are all things that they'll be able to take with them as they age and go on to do other sports/school programs/jobs.Overall, if you're looking for a gymnastics facility that will keep your child(ren) engaged and having fun, all while making friends and learning fundamental teamwork, perserverance and work ethic skills, Scarborough Gym Elites is the place to go.

We’ve had nothing but a positive experience with Scarborough Gym Elites. There has been a marked improvement in my daughter’s behaviour since starting here. They’re disciplined while still being really fun.My daughter looks forward to her classes every week and continues to gain confidence. Absolutely worth every penny.

Open gym used to be awesome here, met allot of friends and cool like minded people. asked the receptionist about other recommendations and she had zero. they used to charge for some sort of Ontario Safety Certificate. Really surprised that there was still no recommendation or other suggestion. the only think i can think of now is .....sky-zone?

I grew up doing Gymnastics at Scarborough Olympians which later became the Scarborough Gym-Elites! I learned to love the sport here, I have been back over the years several times and I've always been impressed to see more and more children learning the sport SAFELY and having FUN! A GREAT place to send your children for quality Gymnastics Instruction!

I was a little disappointed at the lack of compassion and understanding from the coaches at this place. My 4 yr old enjoyed her first few classes then there was a huge shift in her excitement to go. I noticed during one of her classes one of the coaches said something along the lines of listen because I'm only explaining this once. Which I understand in a more quiet setting where there isn't 10 other classes going on around them and kids can solely pay attention to their coach. But this isn't the case. I dont expect 1 class to be happening at once but coaches need to understand that these are young kids and their attention span is very short. My daughter gets distracted which is normal for her age and one of her coaches seemed annoyed at her for not listening.

Facility is great. The only thing I don't like here is the coaches is lack of compassion to teach children. Every time I watch her from viewing area.I've noticed coaches here is always chatting, playing with their hair,it seemed not interested in teaching and zero enthusiasm. I finally decided to voice out my concerns. I spoke on the phone with Jessica, (supervisor) after that I don't recieve any update so I decided to speak up again with another lady on the office( the old lady) I forgot her name but she is nice and much better than jessica,she listened to my concern. I didn't send my daughter there to play ,but to learn different techniques of gymnastics, since she really loved it.but staying in there facility for almost a 1 yr with no improvement. It's not good at all.they only give special treatment to those child who's the parent work there.I notice that several times.i will not recommend this place to anyone. Viva Rhythmic gymnastics is way better .its okay to pay more as long as my child will improve her skills and coaches are more focus on the needs of the child.more attentive and more compassionate.

I have inrolled my children in Scarborough Gym Elites' recreational program for five years now, and they absolutely love it. Both my son and daughter are always so excited to go to gymnastics every week, and they've achieved many different skills/levels throughout the years. Really appreciate the initiative this gym takes to create a welcoming, safe and friendly environment for the kids. Great facility, features high-quality equipment and apparatuses, with dedicated staff and athletes. Overall a great experience for myself and my children, definitely recommend.

I’m sure this facility is great but this was not my experience. For the first time we signed up our 4 and 6 year old boys for the recreational class. We had no expectations about their skills improving, as we just wanted them to have fun and see if they liked it (and of course - to burn energy). The class sizes were good. Ratio of instructors to kids was appropriate. My issues: there were 2 instructors for each of my boys’ classes. The instructors would be talking and seemed uninterested in teaching. There was zero enthusiasm. They were pleasant to the kids. I waited about 6 weeks before saying anything. I finally decided to voice my concerns. The office lady did listen to me. She did reply once “well the girls are young too - they’re about 16”...” that annoyed me. I don’t care - I paid for a service - not for them to socialize and play with their hair - not paying attention to my kids was unacceptable. Anyways nothing changed for weeks. Also the first time I complained my eldest son fell off the bar because his instructor was not paying attention. It really spooked him so he didn’t continue that day. His instructor appeared to feel bad but I get the feeling she was afraid that I would get upset at her. I didn’t because it was case and point for me. I shook my head - so disappointing!! In the end, my boys still had fun. I was not impressed though and it just so happened that a few other parents voiced their same concerns. I had high hopes for this place because they have been around for a long time but I don’t think we will go back. Also, the foyer is horribly set up with tons of parents and kids. There’s shoes everywhere and no order. Get there early so you don’t have to add through the crowd. In the end, I’m annoyed with the quality of service for the money you pay for the session - it’s not cheap!

My daughter is in the “advance” session and there’s nothing advance about it! She does the same thing every week... I stay for the whole time that’s 85minutes the coaches talk, dance and do not even focus on the kids. My daughter been coming here for 2years now, I came back for one coach who was interested in watching the kids improve but since shes not back I will not be returning to this facility. There kids teaching kids. The lack of professionalism in the gym is painful to watch. Your coaches are suppose to be teaching the kids the right technique SO THERE NO INJURY and I’m constantly seeing the kids playing around goofing with no correction from the coaches.

Top notch gymnastics club! Excellent coaches and a very organized and well run club.
