Powell Park

A Small Park with an Open field that hosts local Kids and evening Soccer. A Playground with Water Spray Pad and Toddler Pool. Visit a New additional Community Garden on Site. My favorite Visual is an Authentic Sun Dial to navigate the Time!

It's a great place to visit has about three Pokemon stops and two gyms. Has a community garden. Playground basketball court and splash pad in the summer time.

Powell Park is a natural focal point for the Gibson neighbourhood. What makes this park different than other parks in the area is that the neighbours realize what a special place it is and have decided to make a concerted effort to keep it clean and needle free. It's has been a battle but the neighbours have been persistent and have definitely won the war. The park is one of the cleanest in Hamilton. This cleanliness has spread to the surrounding streets making the entire neighourhood a nice place for young families. Great park nice people tough area but we watch out for each other

Broken slide was closed off. Found an opened but unused condom on the playground. Bully type kids like to cuss and act tough in the summertime. Not a fan of this park, but it's the closest one to walk to with my kids.

We love Powell Park, the community tries it's best to keep it clean but we miss the trees near the parking lot, we wish that some new ones could be planted. Love the growth of our neighbors able to grow food in the community garden.

Revamp of the park has made it much better! Although not all the way there yet, as the splash pad is dismal and is in need of a major update.Since the newish addition to the broken down play structure that was reused and renovated from a previous park I assume, this park still deserves something new.I've seen amazing new additions to parks on the mountain that the same fun designs could be used here. Considering how old the condition of the rest of the park is.They repainted fun decorative designs on the old garage, wall adjacent to it and the back of the basketball hoop.There is newly layed out woodchips that give it a better feel overall.They also have a larger wading pool. Although is minimally filled like most parks, it's much deeper then I've seen. Makes me imaging what it looked like back in the say when it was entirely filled! Would have been awesome looking.Lastly, this park has so much tree coverage to seek refuge from the sun. In the late afternoon between 4 and 8, the sun is positioned in a way that blocks out most of the sun with all the trees.
