Footprints Resort

Such an amazing spot! We had a really great 3 night stay at Footprints for our anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised with a mini bottle of champagne, chocolates and glasses in our room upon arrival. Footprints is a charmingly renovated property with so many beautiful places for individuals, couples or groups to lounge and socialize (while still safely practicing social distancing). I really enjoyed drinking my morning coffee down on the dock by the water and using the stand up paddle boards /kayaks during the day. There was three large fire pit areas for all of the guests to enjoy into the evenings (lots of fire wood is provided). I would highly recommend Footprints resort and will be back again and again. The staff is very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect! The rooms were very clean. “Glamping” at its finest.

Sadly Covid-19 dampened the stay, but overall a good experience. Very laid back, enjoyable, comfortable. We stayed in the cabins with 2 price bathroom, very comfortable - of the temperature was higher outside or humid, I’m sure wouldn’t be too comfortable (I enjoy sleeping cold).This place definitely much better when you go with multiple couples - during our stay, there were two larger groups that were very clicky, so made it more difficult to interact.We enjoyed the stay, hot tubs all closed due to covid, very reasonably priced. Great cooking facilities with multiple areas to cook. Well kept and maintained.Would recommend to others.

Loved the experience. It’s like Summer Camp for grownups. The staff were amazing and constantly checking in to see if you need anything. Cabins are very clean. My only comment is maybe keep the tents in the tent section. It was a bit crowded in the cabin section with tents on the front lawn. Other than that such a wonderful time. We will return.

Really nice spot! We found it to be a much smaller overall area (and lake) than we had imagined based on the photos, so it felt a bit crowded; the cabins were in close proximity and encircled the fire pit so it felt more like a camp than a resort, but it was a very clean and well maintained property and we had a lovely weekend there, even without the hot tub and mini pool open (due to Covid). We loved the slide island, and super-loved feeding the friendly resident chipmunks. Would definitely recommend for a short stay, but not the place to go if you want privacy or a big place to explore and wander. Thanks :)

My boyfriend and I were here from Monday, July 26th until early on Friday, July 30th and we both had an absolute blast. We were feeling slightly hopeless after we were unable to do trips to Boston/New York or Halifax this year as we had originally planned, but we knew we wanted to get away somewhere for a change of scenery and he happened to stumble on the website back in April.First of all, the area is gorgeous. I don't get to see this part of Ontario very often, but its beauty and peacefulness astounds me every time. Although the resort is located on a smaller lake which might be a complaint for those who enjoy swimming, I actually preferred this due to my fear of deep water. It added an element of comfort for me when I was making use of the recreational amenities and sitting on the dock. Furthermore, the resort is located only twenty minutes from the town, making it feel sequestered, but not secluded enough that you can't make a Timmies run or stock up on food and alcohol throughout the week!Our room was the one located inside the motel-esque style building, and although that's the cheapest accommodation available apart from the campsites, it was extremely clean and contained a king size bed, a shower, a toilet, and a sink which is all any guest needs for a comfortable stay. In addition, we had a fridge, a freezer, and a microwave which were convenient for keeping our drinks cold and our leftover food hot!The grounds were well kept, including the dock, the decks, and communal areas which hosted a plethora of seating, lounge chairs, barbecues, and cooking utensils. The friendly staff were frequently seen tending to the land as well as working on the upkeep of the community areas. Unfortunately, the hot tub was closed but that was a minor inconvenience and not worthy of a complaint since it was the byproduct of Covid protocols. When it does reopen, it will be a relaxing place to unwind and take in the beautiful view. Fortunately for the guests, the dock and beach seating areas, kayaks, canoes, trampoline, slide, and paddleboards were all able to be taken full advantage of.My favourite thing about our Fooprints experience was the sense of community which was present throughout the day but became amplified at night during the nightly bonfires. We spent many hours having quality chats and lots of laughs with our fellow guests and it won't be something I forget anytime soon! Many of them were also return clientele, which is a testament to the quality of the resort.My only disclaimer is to be wary of the path that goes around the lake; it's slightly overgrown in places which made it easy for our directionally challenged selves to become lost for a brief period of time. That aside, I would certainly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a nice couple's getaway that provides a good backdrop for romance while allowing you to mingle with other adults.

Amazing resort. Owners were very nice and accommodating. We camped and were able to choose from a variety of places to set up as there are no actually campsites per-say. Lake was great and warm, just watch out for those leeches. The company was great and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lots of amenities free to use such as an indoor and outdoor kitchen, bbqs, stand up paddleboards, kayaks, etc. Great experience overall, will be cancelling plans elsewhere to come back again this year.

We stayed here in the Garden Villa recently for a 4 day weekend. The whole resort was great. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lots of activities too. If I had anything to recommend it would be a couple more hooks and maybe a shelf or 2 in the villa by the fridge.

Loved it! Great place to get away and relax. They really thought of everything. Gave three stars for the room because the one we had was very small but they do offer larger ones with their own bathroom.If you're staying a night or two the smaller cabins are good but for 4 or 5 nights, I would definitely recommend a larger room.The staff was absolutely wonderful! We had a great time and would definitely go back!

Great deal for the 4 night, mid-week stay. We stayed in the Bunkie cabins and they're small as you would expect but clean and comfortable. The outdoor kitchen is amazing and has everything you would need over and above the multiple bbqs on site. Staff were all really friendly and helpful too. Only thing to mention would be the cabins are all really close together so it's not private if that's what you're looking for. Make sure to check out the nearby beach on old diamond lake rd - a quiet and relaxing spot to chill out.

What an amazing place. Beautifully paired out. Immaculately kept. Great hosts and even greater people. We will definitely be back again. Great job guys
