It is a decent place for a summertime family picnic: a prominent area with lots of picnic tables, so usually able to find an unoccupied one; mostly under tree shadows so that it will not be too hot even in summer; have water taps inside the picnic area, and washrooms not far away; great playground nearby with water spray park in summer; the parking nearby has hundreds of stalls, but if you don’t have a car, Patterson SkyTrain station is also within walking distance.
