Abell Pest Control

Hands down the best service I have ever received. When you own a business you want it to be looked after and that you are taken seriously. Ron Faa who works for Abell is professional and very knowledgeable and I can count on him to make sure my business is pest free at all times.

We have used Abell Pest Control over the past few years and people are just wonderful. We are happy to be looked after by such a responsible company.

We have been using the services of Abell for 5 years, mainly to deal with ants. Although the problem seems to have been solved, we continue to contract for services from Abell for preventative purposes. The last couple of years, Matt Holden has been our Route Manager. He always advises us when he will be arriving, and is always on time with a cheerful disposition. The advance notice has been appreciated as it allows us the opportunity to let Matt know in advance whether there are any current issues for him to check out when he arrives (as we may not be home at the time). The annual service fee is very reasonable for the level of service that we receive.

March 2nd at 12:30 pm (Island Hwy in Nanaimo). The Abell driver was tailing my wife car aggressively. My wife is novice driver and needed to turn left up ahead. Which is why we were on the left lane, otherwise we would of been on the right lane. Please relax and understand not everyone can go 10 over the posted speed limit. I will take this review down if this issue gets addressed.

Nathan arrived exactly on time and new his job. He will be back in two weeks to inspect the situation. Very grateful to have them on the job! I think their service is very reasonably priced too!

Matt Holden does a great, professional job, is knowledgeable and keeps me updated after his routine checks.

I called Abell as I suspected I had mice in my crawl space. The lady that answered the phone was very helpful and courteous, she explained the process and the cost. Nathan, one of Abell’s technicians arrived on time and followed all safety protocols. Nathan was professional and courteous and soon found the entry-point. He blocked the hole, set traps and informed me that he would be back in a week.On the day of the follow up visit I received a text message saying that Nathan was unwell and wouldn’t be coming. I left it a couple of days and then tried to contact him to see if someone would come in his place ...... nothing! Another two days and I called the office, lots of promises but no action. Another two days and I called and asked to speak to a manager, I was informed (very politely) that there was no manager available but one would call me back. Again.... nothing! At this point I had to deal with the traps and dead mice myself, not a difficult job but considering that Abell charges $350 for their service I shouldn’t have had to. Another two days and I called again, once again I was politely told that a manager was not available. At this point I asked for my money back. I was informed by the lady I was speaking to that she was not authorized to give refunds, I asked to speak to a manager again. After a couple of hours the manager did call, and after much discussion they reluctantly gave me my money back less a $75 charge for the first visit.Communication is a fundamental necessity for any business, however based on my experiences with Abell it is a skill that they need to improve on.To add insult to injury, two days later Nathan arrived for his follow up visit.Follow up: When Nathan originally visited he found the entry point that the mice were using, it was a vent that had come loose. Nathan assured me he had fixed it. Today I checked the vent to find that Nathan’s “fix” was to put two sticky mouse glue traps over the vent. Of course being outside in the damp they had both fallen off exposing the entry point again. This is clearly not a correct or appropriate way to fix anything and I am disgusted that this type of shoddy workmanship would be condoned or used by any company advertising their services as “professional”.

Gord Lund has been providing us service for years. He is very knowledgeable and thorough, and always has a positive attitude. Happy to have you on our team Gord! Keep up the good work! :)

Matt is great about responding and working to solve the rodent issue. Unfortunately he's only in town one day a week. I've also been grateful for Gord stepping in when needed when Matt's not around and dead rodents are inside.
