After waiting for 1hour there thankfully one of the agents know what to do 2 renew the Ontario card. If you can go to another service Ontario office please so because they have no f.clue what they are doing and they will make you go from desk to desk and mess up your documents anyway.

The Service Ontario office is tucked away in the back of a small mall at 1800 Bank St. This office provides lots of bilingual services ranging from payments of tickets, driver licence photos / renewals, and issuance of licence plates. All of Ottawa's Service Ontario offices get very busy with long line ups so I suggest going there early. Prior to Covid it was also important to take a number from the tag machine, located by the front desk on a pole, so you don't wait for more time than you need to. The average waiting time I have waited to renew my drivers licence is about an hour and a half. So plan accordingly.

The staff is ignorant. They close at 5. I got there at 4 30pm and they say come back Monday. I said it's only 4:30 not 5 and she said well were out of numbers so you need to figure it out because we can't help you today. How rude

To be fair, this place is always busy and may need 45 to 90 min wait for the task, but the staff are knowledgable, courteous, helpful and do their job amazingly well. I went there four times in last 3 months and got a great service. I wish walk in clinic staff are like them.

Did not get service! Closed at 5pm. I arrived 4:25pm and no tickets as they already had a dozen people waiting. And only 2 staff behind counter. Not good. Definitely not efficient as there was a steady stream of others coming in behind me. Considering there’s so many well paid govt workers in this city but no one is able to complete their jobs. At least in offices where staff are visible we know they’re working. What’s everyone else doing all day?!

Since you inevitably have to wait about 2 hrs for your number, you get to see how the staff interact with a wide range of customers. There were two staff members that were polite and tried to help customers. The rest were purposely rude, vague and some were just plain incompetent (including one man that appeared to be in a senior role). There were a lot of clients where there was a clear language barrier. In most of these instances, the staff were particularly rude and appeared to be pretending not to understand (with the exception of one woman that switched languages to help out). I know the pay likely isn't great, but the level of disdain for the public was unacceptable for people in a public-facing role.
